A legend gets cheaper as the Logitech G502 Hero gaming mouse cuts 22% off from Amazon

The Logitech G502 Hero has been around for eons by this point, with former RPS chief Katharine’s original review of this mouse taking place back in October 2018 (when I was just 16 – god, I feel old). Nonetheless, by being an elder statesman of the gaming rodent world, it means this mouse can often be found at quite heavy discounts. Currently, it’s just £27 from Amazon, which as per my price tracking graphs, tells me it’s the best price we’ve seen the G502 Hero since Black Friday 2025. Not bad at all.

The G502 is a model from Logitech I’ve used in a couple of different variants over the years – I’ve used both this Hero version and the newer G502 X variant, and one of the first products I ever reviewed was the wireless G502 Lightspeed. Across each generation, the G502 has maintained some of its signature features, such as the larger, contoured frame that makes it a very comfortable rodent for extended periods. It is on the heavier side, though, and more modern, ultralight options will be more nimble in games.

You get a lot of functionality with this larger frame, though, with the G502 Hero coming with 11 programmable buttons, including a DPI clutch on the left hand side and two additional buttons to what you usually get on the top left side for added configuration. There are also adjustable weights included in the box, and a neat dual-mode free-spinning/ratchet scroll wheel that I’ve always been a fan of due to the industrial charm it provides that you don’t really get from other gaming mice. I love a good ratchet scroll wheel, and wish we’d see it more often.

Connectivity here is purely wired, and the G502 Hero also packs in one of the beefier sensors Logitech has offered, with the 25,600 DPI Hero sensor that’s become as legendary as the mouse itself. It’s a zippy sensor for anything from more productivity oriented tasks to faster, competitive gameplay, although you will feel the weight with wrist flicks and sweeping movements more so than with newer, ultralight mice. The main mouse buttons are mechanical, giving them a satisfying click, although they may not be as fast to register as optical or hybrid switches in more modern rodents.

There is RGB lighting, naturally, with some vibrant LEDs across a couple of zones on the chassis, ranging from the Logitech G logo to other speckles elsewhere. Changing its colour is simple within Logitech’s G Hub software, where you can also change things such as DPI and remap the large quantity of buttons this rodent has.

If you’ve been after a classic gaming mouse for a decent discount, this Amazon deal takes the Logitech G502 Hero down to its best price in months.
