With all of the iconic horror villains Dead by Daylight has featured over the years, the one character’s absence has stuck out like a bit of a sore thumb: Jason Voorhees of Friday the 13th fame. That’ll be in no small part due to the fact that the horror series was in licence limbo for many years, resulting in the amusing fact that Nicolas Cage (National Treasure, Ghost Rider) made it in before Jason did. But now, as we await his own game, Mr. Voorhees is coming to Debbie Daylight, and you can currently try him out on the beta branch version of the game.
So, what can ole Jason boy do? Well, his main power is titled Omnipresent Evil. Upon a press of the active ability button, “The Slasher,” as he’s referred to, turns invisible and becomes undetectable. The tradeoff is that you then cannot see survivors or their scratch marks. “Mist Clouds reveal the location of survivors who are not moving,” the patch notes continue to explain. “Footprints reveal the path of survivors who are walking or running.”
By the time you see him, you’ll barely have time to scream. Jason’s reign of terror begins today, only in the PTB. Patch Notes: Reddit 🔗 https://dbd.game/4wMrBZj

You then deactivate that power by using one of his special abilities, aptly titled Jump Scare. This lets Jason quickly move to a pallet, breakable wall or window by looking at them, where he then uses a special-break/vault action. He then gets haste after that, and detected survivors are revealed too. His other special ability lets him grab spikes from scrap piles or hooks that he can throw at survivors, knocking ’em back and doing a bit of damage.
The beta branch test isn’t running for all that long however, only until June 2nd, arriving properly in the game on June 16th. He’s also got a few different skins, which are mostly just variations of “guy wearing regular clothes having a bit of a rough day,” but I’m sure it’ll mean something to the Voorheads out there!
