No Fallout New Vegas remaster teases here, Iron Galaxy say, we’re just really enthusiastic about meetings

Have you ever noticed your next company-wide meeting’s due and thought the following: ‘Oh, we should post an image prominently featuring a screen from a game rumoured to potentially be getting the remake or remaster treatment, but solely to illustrate how much we love meetings’? Well, Iron Galaxy Studios – co-developers of Skyrim‘s Switch port and support studio on Fallout 76 – say was what happened late last week. The studio say their social media posts featuring Fallout: New Vegas‘ ‘Please Stand By’ screen have “nothing to do with anything Fallout being worked on”.

“Nope! There is nothing to see here,” Iron Galaxy wrote in a tweet responding to one of many articles about their New Vegasy posts. “Sorry to disturb the volcanoes, but that was just a BTS look at our company meeting. We use that slide every month and has nothing to do with anything Fallout being worked on. As you can imagine, we love Fallout, too. Now pardon us as we retreat back into our vault.”

Fair enough. Though, it does seem like a bit of a goof on the studio’s part not to have anticipated that including something so recognisably New Vegas pretty prominently in a post alluding to a meeting in which “what’s coming up next” for Iron Galaxy is to be discussed might set tongues waggling. On the other hand, it’s a more tasteful way to promote your love of meetings than say, a big staged photo in which everyone stands behind the bosses and forces a smile to avoid potentially drawing any ire.

While we’ve got to take Iron Galaxy’s denial that they weren’t teasing any Fallout remasters here at face value, it doesn’t mean that Fallout remasters aren’t potentially in the works or in the plans somewhere. A Fallout 3 remaster was specifically mentioned in a Microsoft document leak from 2023, indicating that it was in the publisher’s plans or at least on their radar as of July 2020. While it had nothing about a New Vegas remaster, that leak did also list an Oblivion remaster, which Bethesda and Virtuos subsequently released last year.

For now, the wait for any Fallout remaster announcements which might be coming continues. Please tell us all a thing you love about company-wide meetings below, as it’ll help fill the time.
