You were meant to get a PowerWash Simulator 2 release date today, but it’s not ready yet, so there’s a demo instead

It’s been a good half a year since FuturLab announced PowerWash Simulator 2, their follow-up to the very popular, and seemingly quite satisfying, original game. There’s been various developer logs and tidbits of details shared in the intervening days, weeks, and months, but the one thing that’s been missing so far is a release date. That was supposed to be revealed today, according to FuturLab themselves, but the game isn’t quite ready on all platforms yet. Instead, they’re offering up a demo so that you can get a taste of this newer, shinier powerwashing.

In terms of what you can expect from the demo – which is only single player, I should note, the full game will have both splitscreen and online co-op – there’s two levels to choose from, Removals Van and Public Facility. You’ll also be able to check out the game’s Home Base. The Prime Vista 1500 & Urban X U1 starter washers will be available for you to try out too, alongside “new, bubbly soap.”

There’s furniture to unlock, a SwirlForce Floor Cleaner which I’m assuming does what it says on the tin to unlock, cats you can pet (because what is a game without such a feature in this day and age), and “so many DINGs.” I’m sure those of you who have played PowerWash Simulator knows what this means but alas, I am yet to partake in the powerful washing of objects and places.

FuturLab didn’t specify when they’ll share the release date trailer, just they’ll tell everyone when they can pick it up as soon as they can. In the meantime, when you’re not checking out the demo, you can also have a gander at the dev team’s genuinely quite useful cleaning tips they relinquished unto RPS’ own Nic earlier this year.
