- On a deep 10 game slate, ownership levels will be fairly spread out with two exceptions. Edmonton’s big guns will be a popular stack as they go up against Detroit. They check in as -155 road favorites in a game with a projected total of 6.5 goals, so I do think they will be popular, even with high price tags. I like the idea of an over-weight position. McDavid, Draisaitl and company have been outstanding out of the gate, and it’s hard to imagine that Detroit is going to be able to throw a wrench into those plans. I like the idea of loading up on Edmonton tonight given all the great value plays that are on the slate.
- Boston is the other team that I think will be popular, checking in at -270 on home ice against Ottawa. I’ll always like the Bergeron-Pastrnak-Marchand stack, but on a deep night like tonight with so many options on the board (and the fact that I prefer Edmonton out of the high priced stacking options), I like the idea of a game theory fade here tonight on Boston.
- On the other hand, I like the idea of getting some exposure to both of Calgary’s top two lines tonight in a great spot on home ice against the Sharks. The top line is pretty expensive – but the second line is worth mixing into large field MME GPP formats as a value stack. You can opt for just Backlund/Coleman – or you can go with the three man stack on CGY2, which includes Pitlick.
- The Canucks had a slow start to the year offensively, but in a plus match-up at home against Anaheim, fresh off of a 6 goal game against Dallas last time out, I like the spot for them tonight and the price point on the top line (plus Horvat from the second line who plays on PP1) are a great option tonight that I think will check in lower owned than I think they should be in this one.
- Don’t sleep on the Habs, especially Suzuki’s line. They have been playing great hockey and the price point is very affordable. They are taking on the Kings, who looked great last night but who will be on a back to back after a big win Monday night in Toronto. I like MTL1 tonight along with Chairot on the back-end for a significant part of MME GPP builds.
