Please note that players on DraftKings and FanDuel have multi-position eligibility and may not always match their position between each other. In this article, we will be breaking down some of our favorite plays on the slate at their positions. Remember to keep your eye on the news as the day progresses, as NBA news frequently changes the slate.
We have a small 4-game Sunday slate this evening, while most of the DFS world focuses on NFL there’s still money to be made in the NBA streets.
Point Guard
Damian Lillard ($9,400 DK, $8,400 FD)
| PLAYER | TEAM | GP | W | L | MIN | PTS | TOUCHES | REB CHANCES | P-AST |
| Damian Lillard | POR | 5 | 3 | 2 | 32 | 19 | 73 | 5.6 | 13.8 |
Lillard has been awful over the first 5 games of the season, he looks like a shell of his former self. Over the first 5 games, he’s averaging 19 points on 6 for 17 shooting, 7.6 assists, 3.4 rebounds across 31.6 minutes per game. I have a feeling Lillard will turn things around tonight vs. the Hornets. The Hornets have the 3rd highest offensive rating in the league and a bottom 5 defensive rating, this leads them into a lot of shootouts and close games. Not to mention Portland currently plays at the fastest pace in the league with Charlotte not far behind at number five. Look for Lillard to break out of his funk tonight in Charlotte.
Shooting Guard
Bruce Brown Jr. ($4,500 DK, $4,500 FD)
| PLAYER | TEAM | GP | W | L | MIN | PTS | TOUCHES | REB CHANCES | P-AST |
| Bruce Brown | BKN | 5 | 2 | 3 | 24 | 8.4 | 30.4 | 8.4 | 1.8 |
Bruce Brown’s absence from the starting lineup to start the season was short-lived, and we should expect him to play around 30 minutes for this team going forward. SG is rather thin tonight on both platforms, so I’m more than happy to pay down for a guy like Bruce Brown who can stuff the stat sheet.
Small Forward
Gordon Hayward ($7,200 DK, $6,900 FD)
| PLAYER | TEAM | GP | W | L | MIN | PTS | TOUCHES | REB CHANCES | P-AST |
| Gordon Hayward | CHA | 6 | 4 | 2 | 36 | 19 | 57.8 | 9.5 | 8 |
For all the reasons mentioned above, I love this Portland @ Charlotte game environment for all the key players involved as this should be a face-paced high scoring affair. Hayward has looked great so far this season as the veteran connector for this young talented Charlotte team. The tracking data from the table above supports this, as he is playing big minutes and has his imprint all over the games.
Power Forward
Christian Wood ($8,100 DK, $8,500 FD)
| PLAYER | TEAM | GP | W | L | MIN | PTS | TOUCHES | REB CHANCES | P-AST |
| Christian Wood | HOU | 5 | 1 | 4 | 33 | 20 | 56.4 | 17.8 | 3.6 |
On paper, the Rockets have a tough matchup tonight facing the Lakers in staples center. In reality, the Lakers have the 27th ranked defensive rating in the NBA and have looked a mess. Maybe the Lakers should have signed their better defensive players instead of making splashy moves, only time will tell. I like this matchup for Wood tonight, with only 4 games on the slate, we need to take upside where we can get it.
Center
Rudy Gobert ($8,400 DK, $8,200 FD)
| PLAYER | TEAM | GP | W | L | MIN | PTS | TOUCHES | REB CHANCES | P-AST |
| Rudy Gobert | UTA | 5 | 4 | 1 | 31 | 18 | 32.2 | 22.4 | 1.4 |
Gobert has been great so far this season, averaging 17.8 points, 18 rebounds, and 1.8 blk+stl. He’s even shooting pretty well from the charity stripe at a 70% clip. The center position is fairly thin tonight on this 4 game slate, but Rudy should be a steady option as long as he can stay out of foul trouble against Giannis.
