Hanwha Life Esports (HLE) v.s. PSG Talon (PSG) (7:00 AM EST) (-127 HLE)
A matchup with two teams on streaks, HLE being on a two-game losing streak and PSG being on a two-game winning streak will start off the slate with PSG having the slaying advantage (team overall K/D of 1.35 versus HLE’s 1.11), but luckily for HLE they have been better objectively as of late with a 53% dragon control rate compared to PSG’s 39% for example. Therefore, this may come down to who has better lane control and starts off the match with stronger momentum. HLE leads in both those categories with a 72.1 early game rating and 51.3% lane control at the moment which may give them enough edge to win. Deft may end up contributing the most for HLE at the bot lane position (attack damage carry) especially since he’s averaging the most CSPM (average monsters/minions killed) at 9.7 out of both teams. With this instance making the objective likely easier for HLE and the lane control being in favor of HLE it may be difficult for them to lose.
Fnatic (FNC) v.s. Royal Never Give Up (RNG) (7:55 AM EST) (-450 RNG)
FNC has been one of the two worst teams so far this event (worst slaying wise with a team overall 0.38 K/D) and now face one of the two only remaining undefeated teams in RNG. RNG also has the strongest middle lane out of all teams in this event at 32.3 which bodes well for them against the worst middle-lane (-40.0) held by FNC. This benefits Cryin heavily who mains the mid-lane for RNG and unfortunately for FNC he’s the third most efficient in slaying for his team so defeating the rest of the champions in battle should be even more of a struggle for FNC. With FNC barely having an edge they may end up getting dominated here to extend their losing streak.
Royal Never Give Up (RNG) v.s. PSG Talon (PSG) (8:50 AM EST) (-228 RNG)
RNG should enter this match after a win against what should be a tougher opponent in PSG who happens to have the same first blood-rate as them at 67% which may help determine the match winner heavily. On the other hand, PSG is at a disadvantage objectively so they’d have to rely on the momentum more than anything. With GALA of RNG averaging the highest CSPM at 9.4 this should make the objective more difficult for PSG to obtain since the minions/monsters may get destroyed more frequently in lanes by RNG. PSG does have the stronger mid-lane though (46.5 versus 32.3) so this may allow them to put up a fight.
Hanwha Life Esports (HLE) v.s. Fnatic (FNC) (9:45 AM EST) (-238 HLE)
HLE can potentially start off the slate strong as they should win their first match and now face one of the worst performing teams this event in FNC. With everyone on HLE having nearly double the KDA of all players on FNC battles should go heavily in HLE’s favor. Willer of HLE who mains the jungle role may have to put in a little extra effort though since the jungle lane is HLE’s slight flaw against FNC in this matchup (47.9% versus 50.5%). Fortunately, with Deft having the highest CSPM as said earlier, this should allow the responsibility of Willer’s role to become slightly easier as he more than likely has to counter Bwipo who is the opposing jungler. Willer has a 4.5 KDA compared to Bwipo’s 1.5 KDA should help in this regard though, luckily.
Hanwha Life Esports (HLE) v.s. Royal Never Give Up (RNG) (10:40 AM EST) (-225 RNG)
What should be the closest match on the slate with both teams averaging high damage to champions per minute will go underway with RNG having the slight edge in this regard. RNG has two players currently averaging more damage per minute in Xiaohu and GALA with 600+ (Xiaohu being the one dealing more at 676), which could force HLE to try and win objectively as soon as possible. Although both teams have the same first to three tower rate at 67%, RNG has the higher dragon control rate at 69% versus HLE’s 63% which bodes well for RNG’s chances to win the objective. The performance of GALA of RNG and Deft of HLE may also be crucial here since they both have the highest CSPM’s with Deft having the slight edge at 9.7 to GALA’s 9.4.
PSG Talon (PSG) v.s. Fnatic (FNC) (11:35 AM EST) (-208 PSG)
With PSG most likely coming off a loss in their previous match they should get a chance to bounce back against FNC who may have the hardest time against teams throughout the whole slate. With Hanabi averaging the most damage per minute (568) to champions and no one else being that close besides Adam at 433, PSG may end up having Hanabi dominate here and it also helps he’s the highest kill-participator at 80% in his top-lane role. Since FNC also has the worst mid-lane on the slate while PSG has the best this may be another opening for PSG to thrive. Maple may find himself having a busier day in his mid-lane role but being the second player behind Hanabi in damage per minute to champions this should make his responsibility less stressful. However, the best chance FNC has to pull off an upset here would be to prioritize the objective more than anything since that is their slight edge (100% first-tower edge specifically).
