The MLB DFS Dinger of the Day – August 14, 2021 (8/14/21) – FantasyCruncher.com DFS Articles & Insights – fantasycruncher.com

Every day this season, our team shares who we believe has the best chance to leave the yard. From one-off plays to core parts of daily stacks, we hope this fun article will help you build winning lineups along the way.

Today’s Picks

James: Nolan Arenado – “Brad Keller is a pitcher who has been hit around at will this season with an ERA near six and a WHIP of 1.71. Keller has allowed 143 hits in 116 innings and while he has only allowed 16 homers, that still is a pretty high number. Arenado has one homer in three career at-bats and while he usually hits lefties a little harder, my interest lies in any bat against Keller tonight.”

Zach: Salvador Perez – “Picking a catcher is not something that is normally done in this article. Either is picking a Royals player. With that said I really like Perez tonight as he takes on Jon Lester. Lester is a bum pitcher that has allowed four home runs in his past three starts and has an HR/9 rate of 1.68 for the season. Perez is not a normal catcher as he has 29 home runs on the season and has absolutely destroyed left-handed pitching. This season Perez is slugging .725 with an ISO of .383 against lefties.”

Jared: Matt Olson – “Jordan Lyles has allowed an astounding 27 home runs on the year in 125 innings, including at least one in his last five starts and ten over that span covering just 29 innings. Lyles is allowing the largest Barrel%, Launch Angle, and fly ball rate of his career. While Olson actually has better splits against left-handed pitching, I can’t ignore the raw power play against a pitcher who has given up a ton of long balls on the year.”
