The MLB DFS Dinger of the Day – August 8, 2021 (8/8/21) – FantasyCruncher.com DFS Articles & Insights – fantasycruncher.com

Every day this season, our team shares who we believe has the best chance to leave the yard. From one-off plays to core parts of daily stacks, we hope this fun article will help you build winning lineups along the way.

Today’s Picks

James: Adam Duvall – “Another week, another chance to pick on Patrick Corbin. Corbin has allowed seven home runs in his last three starts and six home runs over his last 12 innings pitched. On the season, 23 of the 25 homers allowed by Corbin have come to right-handed hitters and righties are hitting .299 and slugging .542. Despite some lackluster numbers against lefties on the year, I am going to back the raw power of Duvall here to put one out. If Duvall sits, Albies is my next choice.”

Zach: Joey Votto – “I don’t see any reason to move off of Votto as he takes on Bryse Wilson. Wilson comes into today’s start with an HR/9 rate of 1.63 allowed. Wilson has also really struggled against left-handed hitters allowing them to slug .520 with a .369 wOBA.”

Jared: Jorge Soler – “Patrick Corbin has given up 6 long balls in his last 2 starts. Six. An average of 3 per start (albeit one with a small sample size) is something we need to get pretty excited about, though. This year, RHBs have a wOBA of .382 against Corbin where 23 of his 25 HR allowed have come, too. Soler has a .268 ISO and .513 SLG vs LHP over his last 3 years of work, spanning 300 PA. Even better? The .587 wOBA and .857 ISO with a 1.491 OPS in his last 23 PA against LHP. He’s crushing the ball right now and getting incredibly hot at the right time for his new team. The matchup and recent form just doesn’t get any better.”
