Schalke let us down big time on Friday dropping their game to SK Gaming who had just one total win on the slate and only managing six kills. I have to reach a point with Schalke where I tell myself enough is enough – if you weren’t aware, Schalke actually sold their LEC spot, so this will be their last split in existence as Team BDS is taking over at the start of Spring 2022. Whether or not this weighs on the players or not it is impossible to say, but dropping a match to SK Gaming and not even being competitive in it says a lot. This slate features four matches with odds to win over -237, which is not something we usually get, but in this case, we mostly have the top four taking on the bottom four with the exception of Rogue against G2. So while we know that upsets happen in League of Legends frequently, it is hard to sit here and tell you who is the nuts value of the slate. Realistically, Fnatic should defeat XL, Misfits should defeat Astralis, Mad Lions should defeat Schalke, and Vitality should defeat SK. Out of these four, Astralis might be the most in play, though Misfits still grade out as a statistically elite team. In fact, Kobbe got a brutal pricing treatment today, being priced at the same price as Razork on Jungle. So we do get some individual value on Kobbe as a potential one-off. As for overall favorite play, I have to contradict my Friday article and say it is Mad Lions against Schalke. Schalke can be incredibly variable, but their confidence level has to be at an all-time low after a beating at the hands of SK. The Rogue/G2 match will likely be the best for straight-up watching, but G2 has not played well recently dropping four of their last fives games, though they did start this week with a win over Astralis.
