Daily MLB DFS Stacking Strategies for FanDuel & DraftKings – July 4, 2021 (7/4/21) – FantasyCruncher.com DFS Articles & Insights – fantasycruncher.com

Digging into today’s MLB DFS slate to highlight your best bats to stack.

In this article, we will cover two to three teams that we think are the most stackable for MLB contests. If you are newer to DFS or MLB, or just want a general refresher on the impact of stacking in MLB, check out our research done this off-season where we analyzed over 2,000,000 lineups to determine how many times a team of four or five hitters stacked from the same team won contests. In brief, 80.3% of winning lineups across 71 Main Slate tournaments (from 2020) had a stack of at least four players. 71.9% of that 80.3% had a stack of five players. It is pretty clear that stacking is the main strategy to focus on when it comes to MLB, therefore we will be approaching our hitters content from a stacking perspective.

Minnesota Twins (@ Royals)

The Twins take on Brad Keller today in Kauffman Stadium, on the year Keller has been less than sensational. Keller brings his 6.67 ERA and 1.88 WHIP to the mound to face a Twins team that’s scored 14 runs combined in their last 3 games. Keller is bottom 1% in the league in xERA, bottom 17% in Barrel%, and bottom 9% in Hardhit%. Combine that with Keller’s bottom 11% in K% and this shapes up as a nice hitting environment for the Twins today. As it stands now with projected lineups, 5-man MIN stacks range from $22,700 | $16,800 with 126 unique combos available, 4-man MIN stacks range from $18,900 | $13,000 with 126 unique combos available. On Fanduel, 4-man MIN stacks range from $14,100 | $10,100 with 126 unique combos, and 3-man stacks range from $11,000 | $7,100 with 84 unique combos available.

San Diego Padres (@Phillies)

Vince Velasquez has been good this season, and he’s coming off of his best start of the year last time out vs the Marlins; however, that should keep the Padres popularity at a reasonable level on this slate. Despite the recent success from Velasquez, he’s sporting a career low BB% which puts him in the bottom 15% in the league. He’s also allowed at least 3 ER in 4 out of his last 6. Velasquez is bottom 19% in the league in Barrel%, bottom 35% in Hardhit%, and bottom 20% in Exit Velocity. Velasquez also has not lasted long in these games despite his success completing 5 innings on only 2 occasions out of his last 6. If the Padres can get to Velasquez early with his 1.4 HR/9, I think they have a chance to blow the game open at depressed ownership in this spot. As it stands now with projected lineups, 5-man SD stacks range from $26,400 | $21,900 with 56 unique combos available, 4-man SD stacks range from $21,600 | $16,900 with 70 unique combos available. On Fanduel, 4-man SD stacks range from $15,300 | $10,500 with 65 unique combos, and 3-man stacks range from $11,900 | $7,100 with 55 unique combos available.
