The MLB DFS Dinger of the Day – June 14, 2021 (6/14/21) – FantasyCruncher.com DFS Articles & Insights – fantasycruncher.com

Every day this season, our team shares who we believe has the best chance to leave the yard. From one-off plays to core parts of daily stacks, we hope this fun article will help you build winning lineups along the way.

Today’s Picks

James: Nick Castellanos – “Not only is he starting to heat back up again, but this is a prime situation to pick on a lefty who faces a guy that absolutely mashes in this split. He’s slugging over .700 in his last week’s worth of games, has a 202 wRC+ in that time, and faces Eric Lauer who has a 33% HR/FB% in his 28 IP so far this year with a 43% hard hit rate (worst on the slate). He has as good a shot as anyone of leaving the yard here today.”

Zach: Fernando Tatis Jr. – “Austin Gomber has actually been pretty good in his 20.1 innings at Coors Field this season with an ERA of 1.33 and just one home run allowed but I don’t think there is any way in the world the young lefty manages to keep those numbers throughout the season. Gomber is going to struggle at Coors as most pitchers do and he is going to give up a lot of home runs. I think those struggles start tonight, especially against Tatis Jr.. Tatis Jr. has gone deep in back-to-back games for the Padres and has some of the best Statcast numbers you are going to see. This season Tatis Jr. has an average exit velocity of 93.0 miles per hour, a 19.0% barrel rate, and a 53.7% hard-hit rate.”

Jared: Vladimir Guerrero Jr – “I’ll stick with arguably the game’s best pure hitter right now, even though this is a matchup that doesn’t necessarily jump off the page as one that we’ll want to attack at all costs. Eovaldi’s only given up 3 HR all year, but continues to allow barrels at a reasonable clip, and Vladdy is absolutely tearing the cover off the ball right now. He has 21 HR on the year, has gone deep in 3 straight games, and is averaging 103.9 mph in his last 6 games. Yes friends, that’s over 100 mph on average in nearly 30 PA. He’s slugging .950 in that time with a .500 ISO and .613 wOBA. Let’s hope he keeps it going tonight, although this test will be a much tougher one than what the first few games of their series have been. I’m investing in the elite hitter skill. In case Vladdy sits here, I’ll pivot to Manny Machado in Coors who is one of my favorite options on the board here today.”
