Every day this season, our team shares who we believe has the best chance to leave the yard. From one-off plays to core parts of daily stacks, we hope this fun article will help you build winning lineups along the way.
Today’s Picks
James: Christian Yelich – “This is a homer pick for me as I am a big Brewers fan but I had to go with a homer pick in an article about home runs. Even if I was not a Brewers fan I would still probably select Yelich in this spot as Wil Crowe has struggled to keep the ball in the park in his young career. Crowe has allowed 12 home runs in his 39.1 career innings and has the Statcast numbers I like to pick on with my hitters. Crowe has allowed an average exit velocity of 89.4 miles per hour, a barrel rate 12.6% of the time, and is allowing an average launch angle of 16.5-degrees.”
Zach: Jesse Winker – “Winker didn’t come through for me yesterday but I am going to go right back to him today as I love the match-up against Antonio Senzatela. Senzatela is a ground ball pitcher but he has been known to all the long ball and has some solid numbers to pick on. Senzatela is allowing an average exit velocity of 90.2 miles per hour and a 42.0% hard-hit rate.”
Jared: Jesus Aguilar – “On the main slate today, the matchup with Drew Smyly is one of the better ones – and the Marlins happen to have a LHP masher on their roster. Aguilar has a wRC+ of 127 and .223 ISO since 2020 vs LHP, with a 4.9% HR/AB rate in that time. His barrel rate in the last couple of weeks is a healthy 14.3% with a nice 19.5 degree launch angle (a bit higher than I’d like it to be on aggregate, but indicative that he’s at least getting the ball in the air). I feel good about this one, and he’s a really nice value across the DFS industry as well today, too.”
