This, of course, is the third major season of content to drop after Rocket League became a free-to-play title. If you count all the seasons that took place behind a paywall, Rocket League Season 2 is actually Rocket League Season 17.

But since the developers at Psyonix have decided to restart their counter, who are we to argue? Rocket League Season 3 is easier to remember anyway!

Whatever you want to call it, we’ve got all the essential info on Rocket League Season 3 below.

When does Rocket League Season 3 start?

Rocket League Season 2 ends tonight, with an update dropping in the game at midnight UK time (that’s the midnight between 6th April and 7th April). And the developers from Psyonix are not going to keep us waiting for too long when it comes to kicking off Rocket League Season 3.

They’ve confirmed in a Tweet that Rocket League Season 3 begins on 7th April at 8am PDT, which translates to a UK time of 4pm BST on 7th April.

When does Rocket League Season 3 end?

Rocket League Season 3 is currently slated to end on 11th August 2021. This means it will run for around four months, which is what you’d normally expect from a season in the game. That should be enough time for you to make the most of this hot new content!

Patch notes: what’s new in Rocket League Season 3?

Described on the Psyonix website as “the most high-octane season yet”, Rocket League Season 3 will bring with a new Rocket Pass, fresh challenges, and shiny new content from the real-life motoring brands NASCAR and Formula 1. Keep on reading to learn all about that exciting new stuff!

Rocket League Season 3 Rocket Pass

In a dedicated webpage about the Rocket League Season 3 Rocket Pass, Psyonix explains that there are 70 main tiers to the Rocket Pass this time around. You can also progress beyond these tiers to earn painted versions of select Rocket Pass Items. The free rewards that everyone can earn include a Mechwing Decal (Peregrine TT), some snazzy Roskilde Wheels, and a Jester Topper.

As the developers teased in a blog post about the new season, “To properly celebrate the art of auto racing, we had to bring in two legends that practically perfected speed: NASCAR and Formula 1. Both of these titans of the track are racing into Rocket League throughout Season 3 with their own bundles.”

As well as the NASCAR and F1 vehicles, there’s also a new original car coming to the game as part of Season 3. It’s dubbed the Tyranno, and it’s described as a “master of dash with a Dominus hitbox”.

Throughout the season you’ll also be able to try out the new-look DFH Stadium Circuit, which is “outfitted with a track and all the pageantry found trackside during a championship Sunday”.

Rocket League Season 3 adds the Trade In Menu

It’s also been confirmed that a new Trade In Menu will be added to Rocket League as part of the Season 3 update.

As Psyonix explained in a big blog post about this handy feature: “In the new Trade In menu, you’ll see your tradable inventory organized into three categories: Core Items, Tournament Items, and Blueprints. Your items in each of these categories are organized by rarity. This new menu displays how many Trade Ins you have available, making it much easier to trade your items in quickly and efficiently.”
