The Lucky Lanterns event will run from Feb. 11 to March 1. During the event, there will be opportunities to earn limited rewards like the Golden Lanterns by completing challenges.
Golden Lanterns are a kind of loot box, containing items from the Velocity, Triumph and Overdrive series. Basically, it’s almost like a super crate that combines the three.
Last year, Golden Lanterns could have been purchased for 150 Red Envelopes. This year’s event eschews the Red Envelope currency, instead opting for various challenges to complete. For Golden Lanterns in 2021, you simply have to play 20 online matches to earn one. This can be repeated up to five times, letting you earn some great rewards for just playing.
Golden Lanterns are more valuable than ever, since each player can only earn five of them throughout the event. You could find other players looking to trade them, but you’re more likely to find people wanting to get them. If you already have the items from the sets available, you might be able to move them to another player who wants them.
