Will FIFA 22 be cross-platform? – RealSport101

FIFA 22 will be coming later this year, but will we finally see a cross-platform title from EA?

Here is what we know so far.

Cross-Platform

Despite a Next Gen launch for the current FIFA title – FIFA 21 – we’ve yet to see EA incorporate cross-platform gaming into their hit football sim.

They shut down rumours of cross-play in FIFA 21 fairly swiftly, addressing the question over on social media with the following comment:

“You won’t be able to play across console generations or cross-play in FIFA 21”

But how about in FIFA 22? A year down the line from the release of the Next Gen consoles, will now finally be the time to give cross-play the green light?

Will Cross-Play be available on FIFA 22?

Currently, we have had no confirmation as to whether EA will be incorporating cross-platform gaming into FIFA 22.

But with that said, we are hopeful to see Microsoft and Sony join forces on FIFA 22.

Cross-platform gaming has become more and more common over the last 12 months.

The likes of Fortnite, Rocket League and Call of Duty Warzone all feature cross-platform gaming, as the bridge between Microsoft and Sony has begun to narrow.

There would be a number of features that would remain console-specific though – the likes of the Weekend League competitions as to ensure there is a clear divide between PlayStation and Xbox for ranking purposes – but the likes of FUT Friendlies and Pro Clubs could well be on the cross-play agenda.
