How to get the Gangnam Style emote in Fortnite Season 5 – CharlieINTEL.com

High frames-per-second is one of the main advantages of playing Fortnite on PC, so here are the best settings to get the most FPS from your system.

Having high frames-per-second (FPS) will make your game run smoother, improving your reaction time and making Fortnite an overall more pleasant game to play.

This is why streamers and Fortnite pro players spend thousands of dollars on their gaming rigs.

However, you don’t have to break the bank to get a solid FPS in Fortnite; simply follow these settings to get the best competitive performance from your system.

Best Fortnite PC Settings

On a low-end system, you want to shoot for 60 FPS. This will give you a smooth and stable performance, but you can take it higher by changing certain settings.

We’ve picked out the settings that will have the biggest impact on Fortnite’s performance, and given you the optimal options to select for high FPS.

Display

  • Window Mode: Fullscreen
  • Resolution: 1920×1080 (it should match your monitor’s native display resolution)
  • Frame Rate Limit: Unlimited

Graphics Quality

  • 3D Resolution: 100%
  • View Distance: Epic
  • Shadows: Off
  • Anti-Aliasing: Off
  • Textures: Low
  • Effects: Low
  • Post-processing: Low

The only setting you want to have on High or Epic is View Distance. Seeing players, builds, and weapons in the distance is vital and worth losing a few frames for.

If your PC is struggling with View Distance set to Epic, experiment with lowering it.

Advanced Graphics

  • V-Sync: Off
  • Motion Blur: Off
  • Rendering Mode: DIRECTX11
  • Nvidia Reflex Low Latency: On + Boost
  • Ray Tracing: Off

If you have a high-end graphics card, you should give DIRECTX12 a try as that can boost FPS and make your game more stable, but will cause issues on lower-end GPUs.

Ray Tracing can be found at the very bottom of the Settings tab, but you want to have it all turned off. It will make your game look great, but will absolutely tank your performance.

Fortnite Performance Mode

If you’re playing on an outdated PC, or want to squeeze every last frame out of your system, perhaps performance mode is for you. This offers “significant performance gains” by reducing the visual quality of the game. This will lighten the load on your GPU and CPU, making Fortnite run at much higher frames.

Fortnite performance mode

To set Fortnite to Performance Mode:

  1. Open settings in Fortnite
  2. Scroll down to ‘Rendering Mode’
  3. Select Performance (Alpha)
  4. Restart Fortnite

Fortnite won’t look as pretty, but you’ll see massive boost in FPS.

Try out these settings on Fortnite Battle Royale for PC, and you will see a marked improvement in the game’s performance.
