If you didn’t get around to completing all the Fortnitemares challenges in Fortnite, don’t worry: it’s been a time! I would say that even if you weren’t able to snag all the rewards right now, but, as luck would have it, you can. Due to a technical error with the event ending one day early, you can now just go log into Fortnite and grab everything on offer. This is not a bug, this is official restitution as per the Fortnite Status Twitter account:
So there is a catch there: you need to have completed a single Fortnitemares challenge in order to receive the rest of the rewards. So if you skipped the event entirely, you won’t get some massive clutch of cosmetics and the like. Then again, if you skipped the event entirely, you probably don’t care all that much about Groot’s pickaxes, even though they go so well with such a wide range of cosmetics.
Overall, I’d call it a successful event: the shadow mechanic was a nice touch that actually changed the way the game feels to play, even if it was fairly similar to what we saw out of Call of Duty: Warzone during the same time. The Witch Broom was a fun little mobility mechanic as well. All in all, a successful iteration of an event that holds a special place in Fortnite canon: when they debuted it with husks for its first year, it marked the first time that Epic had put together an event that really changed the game to this scale, as well as the first time we got NPCs inside the game world.
And with that, we start looking forward to the rest of the month and the conclusion to Season 4. Galactus has appeared in the skies above the island, and it seems we’re getting ready for the climactic Nexus War that will wrap up everything that’s been going on for the past weeks. It’s looking like it’s going to be a pretty significant live event, even if we don’t have details on it yet. So right now, all there is to do is watch the villain slowly approach out there.
