Secretlab is one of the premium brands in the gaming chair business, and it’s been producing some killer elevated butt cushions since 2014. The latest Secretlab 2020 Series screams style with premium materials used throughout, and there are a few game partnerships resulting in some truly whacky designs like the CyberPunk 2077 Edition.
If you’re not a fan of role-playing games (RPGs) or are simply obsessed with massive online battle arenas (MOBAs), you’ll be pleased to learn Secretlab just released a handful for the game League of Legends. There are various designs available, but we took in the K/DA band variant. Is this gaming chair worth the money for battling hard on the Rift?

What you’ll love about the Secretlab League of Legends K/DA Edition

The Secretlab 2020 Series is excellent. Our News Editor, Dan Thorpe-Lancaster, said in his review that “Secretlab still remains at the top of the pack when it comes to gaming chairs, and the 2020 Series further cements its place.” I couldn’t agree more after trying the 2020 Series myself.
Secretlab’s League of Legends 2020 Series of chairs is a must-have for fans of the MOBA.
The improvements made to the 2020 Series are also found in the League of Legends Edition gaming chairs, too, including this K/DA variant. These include metal buttons for adjusting the armrests, as well as Secretlab’s PRIME 2.0 PU Leather. This new material can hold up after 200,000 abrasion cycles, which means you should be able to use it for many years to come.
To put that into perspective against the competition, standard leather starts peeling after around 50,000 cycles. This is what you can expect from Secretlab, which charges a fair price for its gaming chairs, but they’re among the best in the business. Premium materials are used through the design, and from unboxing everything, it’s clear to see just how durable all the parts are.
Everything is carefully packed, and all the tools you’ll need to put the chair together are included. The instructions provided are easy-to-follow, though you will require a good 30 minutes to an hour to carefully assemble it. Included with the chair are new memory foam headset and lumbar support cushions, which feels amazing to the touch.
If you’ve had the luxury of enjoying some foam pillows, these are very similar. For the chair itself, the base is made from metal, and there’s a sturdy adjustment tower that allows you to manipulate the chair to position it just right. Just be sure to have someone available to lend a hand if you need to move the chair up some stairs.
Once you have everything assembled, it’s a joy to look at. The K/DA design rocks the band’s logo on the front of the chair (the backrest), while some additional branding can be found on the rear. The all-black design with purple and golden accents are a brilliant combination to brighten up the standard chair look.
If you’ve never heard of K/DA, it’s a band created by Riot Games for League of Legends. You read that correctly; Riot Games manages artists who produce killer tunes for its massively popular MOBA. K/DA performed during the League of Legends Worlds 2018 tournament, and is formed of characters Kai’Sa (Jaira Burns), Ahri (Miyeon), Akali (Soyeon), and Evelynn (Madison Beer).
For comfort, the Secretlab 2020 Series is a winner, regardless of whether you choose OMEGA or TITAN. Our review sample was the OMEGA, and it was an absolute joy to use for five days. You can appreciate the choice in materials after coming away from a solid eight-hour session in Path of Exile.
What you’ll dislike about the Secretlab League of Legends K/DA Edition

The League of Legends K/DA Edition by Secretlab is a wonderful gaming chair, but it’s not quite perfect. For starters, this chair is incredibly heavy, which is actually a good thing, but it does make it almost a requirement to have two people to unpack the box and carry the chair up a flight (or few) of stairs.
It’s also rather daunting to put together once you’ve unboxed everything. This is quickly remedied with the bundled instructions sheet, but you will require a fair amount of space to construct the chair. But once everything is bolted together, you’ll find a lack of lumbar support aside from the included pillow, at least with the OMEGA version (the TITAN does come with it).
It seems strange to mention it, but there is some wobble in the armrests. This is a $400 chair, but the wobble is actually by design. You may find it a little annoying, but it’ll be there, regardless of which model you pick. Lastly, Secretlab used metal for the armrest adjustment levers and buttons, but the tilt and height controls located under the chair are plastic. It’s not a significant issue, but definitely evidence of cost-cutting.
Should you buy the Secretlab League of Legends K/DA Edition?

There’s a reason many consider Secretlab to be the top of the gaming chair leaderboard. The company has built a reputation for designing premium seating with high-quality materials. They’re rather expensive, including this special Secretlab League of Legends K/DA Edition, but the gaming chairs are built to last.
Should you be a fan of League of Legends, all four designs are amazing to look at. My personal favorite is the K/DA version, hence why we’re reviewing it right here. The gold, purple, and black design are stunning. But a chair isn’t all about the looks. There’s no reason to buy a Secretlab chair if they’re not comfortable to plant your rear-end.
Luckily, Secretlab chairs are among the best in the business. They really are. Whether you’re rocking the standard Secretlab 2020 series chairs or one of these special edition versions, you’re going to forget that you’re actually sat on something. It’s incredible just how well-designed they are. If you can afford one, you won’t regret it.
