Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 2 is – we hope – finally about to come to an end. The seemingly infinite Season has been delayed because of Covid-19 issues, the Black Lives Matter protests in the US and reasons beyond that, too.
But it seems like we may finally be ready to start Season 3.
The last time Fortnite fans had an end-of-season live event to look forward to was the jaw-dropping The End, in season 10. And the promise of a Doomsday-inspired event has certainly got people excited.
Originally, Season 2 was due to end on June 2 but world events conspired to push the detonation of the Doomsday Device at The Agency’s HQ back a bit.
So when can we expect the game’s newest event to go live?
When does Fortnite Doomsday event start?
The upcoming live event currently known only as ‘The Device’ or ‘Doomsday’ will be kick off on Monday, June 15, with the Season 3 launch delayed to Wednesday, June 17.
Though Epic Games has not yet revealed a time we can expect the game to go live, if we look back to recent updates and events we can glean something of an idea about what to expect.
The Fortnite Doomsday was originally expected to start on Saturday, May 30 at 7.05pm BST before the series of delays hit the event and Season 3 launch.
Logic would have suggested the new event would take place on a Saturday, as it always had, but that’s not the case this time around.
Instead, the Fortnite Doomsday event starts on Monday June 15 from 7.05pm UK time.
For anyone else in the world that means you can expect the Fortnite Doomsday event to start at these times:
• United States – 2.05pm EST (Eastern Time) and 11.05 PST (Pacific Time)
• Europe – 8.05pm CET (Central European Time)
• Asia – 2.05am CST (China Standard Time)
• Australia – 4.05am AEST (Australian Eastern Standard Time)

Fortnite Doomsday event – What to expect?
Epic has been pretty quiet on what we can expect from the game this time around.
Even in a statement on the game’s website, when the developer announced that the start of the Season and the transition event into it (called The Device) will be nudged back, it didn’t let on much.
“Recent events are a heavy reminder of ongoing injustices in society, from the denial of basic human rights to the impact of racism both overt and subtle against people of color,” the post reads.
“We’re acutely aware of the pain our friends, families, team members, players, and communities are experiencing.
“We believe in equality and justice, diversity and inclusion, and that these fundamentals are above politics.”
We’ll keep you updated as we learn more.
