Pain in the wrist, hand or forearm is a very common problem for gamers and it’s important not to ignore it.
Whether you dedicate hours to cranking in Creative, grinding scrims or just playing for fun, it’s almost inevitable that at some point you will face discomfort in your hands or wrist. As someone who spends most of my time either playing games or writing about them, this is an issue I’m all too familiar with.
Luckily for us, experts of injury management in gaming, 1HP, recently shared the results of their ongoing research into the health of Fortnite players. Their team work with pro esports organisations and have even helped stars like Benjy “Benjyfishy” Fish and Harrison “Psalm” Chang.

Unsurprisingly, their survey indicated that the main areas of discomfort for Fortnite fans are in the wrist, forearm and hand. With mechanics like building and editing playing such a vital role, your fingers are always busy whether you use a controller or keyboard and mouse.
This article from 1HP summarising their findings includes links to routines designed to target the key regions in which Fortnite players suffer. Right now, these guides are only available in early-access to $10 Patreon subscribers, however they will be free for everyone in two weeks time.
If you are unable to support them on Patreon but still want help immediately, don’t panic. There is a bunch of handy (get it) content on the 1HP YouTube channel, and their website has information on posture and lower back pain.
