Aim assist now works through buildings in Fortnite – Fortnite Tracker

Yep, we’re talking about it again. Yet another crazy Fortnite aim assist clip has surfaced and this one seems pretty broken.

It’s the oldest debate in Fortnite history, should aim assist stay as it is? Should it be nerfed? Does it need to be removed all together? There will never be a correct answer, but the argument still pops up all over Twitter and Reddit every day.

Fortnite fans recently discovered that the Season 2 update allowed aim assist to track enemies through the cornfields in Frenzy Farm and even behind player-built structures. But this latest clip from YouTube creator @OrangeGuy_YT shows that when spamming L2, his aim follows a player inside a house in Salty Springs.

As Orange Guy pointed out in his post, this could be “abused badly with double heavy snipers”. Imagine thinking you were safely healing up inside a building, and then suddenly you get hit with a double heavy snipe combo.

As a controller player myself, I find this hard to defend. I think most people on controller would agree that there is no reason for aim assist to work through a building or corn field. It is quite possible that this was unintentional on Epic’s part and will be fixed in the future.
