We have reached the halfway point of Fortnite Chapter 2, or we have moved beyond it, depending on if we’re getting nine or ten weeks this season, which no one seems terribly sure about. Today we have a new set of challenges called “The Lowdown” which is not a terribly descriptive title, nor does there seem to actually be a real theme to things this week, other than finding EGO outposts for two different challenges:
Here’s the list for this week:
- Search Chests at EGO outposts (0/7)
- Deal damage to opponents while riding in a motorboat (0/500)
- Visit different EGO outposts (0/5)
- Assault Rifle Eliminations (0/3)
- Revive a teammate in different matches (0/3)
- Search Ammo Boxes in different named locations (0/7)
- Heal teammates with a Bandage Bazooka (0/200)
- Eliminations at Craggy Cliffs or Salty Springs (0/3)
- Reboot a teammates (0/1)
- Assist teammates with Eliminations (0/7)
- Search the hidden letter N in the Lowdown Loading Screen (0/1)
As you may be able to tell, the only places you really have to “find” this week are EGO outposts which belong to the new map’s mysterious organization that we still don’t really know anything about. Are they the good guys? Bad guys? I don’t even know that much. These outposts pop up all over the map as landmarks, but you may not know where they are to complete these challenges, so we have a guide for that.

A few of these challenges introduce some Chapter 2 specific stuff like dealing damage to opponents while in a motorboat. 500 damage is…a lot, so hopefully we will have a bunch of boat fights on the water so we can all grind out this part quickly. On the flipside, you need to heal teammates with the new Bandage Bazooka, which should probably be pretty easy in any squad-based mode.
Past that, it’s a lot of standard stuff. AR kills, assists, ammo boxes, eliminations. And reboot a single teammate. One more thing to find this week, which would be the letter N in the weekly FORTNITE puzzle that has a letter hidden in each of the loading screens. Follow the guide:
First, let’s take a look at the loading screen:
The “N” is featured quite prominently there in the upper left, sitting at the back of the hangar near some yellow barrels. The hangar featured here is also one of the EGO outposts that you might be visiting for this weeks’ challenges. Here it is:
The letter itself should be located towards the back of the hangar on top of some yellow barrels. It’s not hard to spot, and here’s what it looks like in-game. All in all, one of the easier locations to figure from this series so far:
Not a very hard week, not a very interesting week. I kind of hope Epic goes a bit harder with compelling challenges in the future because these are a little dull. Where are my puzzles and mysteries? Ah well, for now, do the basic stuff, get the XP, move on.
