Boats in Fortnite are experiencing bugs both large and small. Recently, players have found an exploit that gets boats to places they shouldn’t be able to reach.
Bugs are nothing new to Fortnite Battle Royale. We’ve seen large and small bugs throughout the lifespan of Fortnite – especially around vehicles. The mech in Fortnite Season 10 was one of the more bug-prone items ever to enter Fortnite, yet it stayed in the game for almost an entire season.
Boats might be one of the most balanced vehicles Epic has ever introduced to Fortnite – up there with the Quad Crasher. The combat utility of the boat is minimal, relegating it to what it should be: a mobility tool.
Players have already found a few ways to increase the viability of the boat, however. It drives on land – which everyone seems to be okay with – but it can also fly if you take it off of a waterfall.
Boats have bugs in them and some are more broken than others. This trick can have you raining fire from above like a missile-wielding X4-Stormwing.
The fact that the boat can fly isn’t the only bug with the newest Fortnite vehicle. It can also, somehow, find a way to fit through a door half of its width.
There are a few clips on the r/FortniteBR and r/FortniteCompetitive subreddits that show how boats can fit through doors. This isn’t a 100% strategy, as you’ll need to be boosting when you finally hit the door.
Is this the most useful tactic in Fortnite? Probably not. You can, though, find a few uses for it. There’s no chance your opponents are going to see this coming. Epic should patch it out of the game shortly, but it’s probably low on their “to do” list. In the meantime, get some cool clips of this boat exploit and enter them into our weekly clips article!
