Joplin Esports Booster Club hosts inaugural fundraising tournament – KoamNewsNow.com

JOPLIN, Mo. – The Joplin Esports Booster Club today hosted its first-ever fundraising tournament featuring competitors from local colleges and even out-of-state competitors.

The Eagles L’air tournament has a prize pool of $850 dollars and to win, competitors battled it out on the 3-D platformer, Super Smash Bro’s Ultimate.

More than 90 participants arrived at Joplin high school to compete, some traveling thousands of miles from out out-of-state.

The funds raised from players registering for the tournament benefit the Joplin Esports Booster Club and officials say they hope to continue putting on events for a variety of competitive games like Rocket League and League of Legends.
