Either it’s a very late April Fool’s joke, or LEGO Fortnite could actually be happening with a massive set according to a new rumour.
Ever since the LEGO Group announced a $1bn investment in Fortnite developer Epic Games, the start of this partnership has raised the question of whether or not LEGO Fortnite could be on the table. Though at the time of writing, it’s only an investment related to making the metaverse safer for kids. While nothing has been officially confirmed and all rumours should be taken with caution, greekbricks on Instagram reports that 2023 will be home to a LEGO Fortnite model.
The rumour states that 10317 will be a depiction of the Battle Bus, a blue bus with a giant balloon on top. According to the report, it will be made up of 2,712 pieces and that it will be released in April 2023, the same month as the day of pranks and traditionally false information, notably. In the game, the bus drops players down onto an island where they battle with each other, and drivable versions without the balloon have also been featured in the game.

The report also lists that a Jonesy minifigure, a character from the game with multiple variations and outfits, with arm printing will be included. The rumoured model could cost $250 / €250.
Fortnite is one of the most popular video games across all platforms and features several modes including the iconic battle royale, the story-driven Save the World and a creative mode where players can make whatever they want using the game’s grid-based building system. It uses a mix of realistic and fantastical weaponry and skins, some of which may have to be avoided in a theoretical LEGO Fortnite set.
Fortnite’s history of brand partnerships is extensive, ranging from animated media such as Dragon Ball Z most recently and even includes the likes of Marvel and Star Wars. However, this rumour is still just that and it should be taken with a good amount of caution, especially with the reported April release date, until officially confirmed otherwise.
