I have so many questions for whoever built the giant Minecraft “crafts” in New Bedford.
On Tuesday, September 20th around 3:00 PM, a couple of oversized Minecraft figures, and a duck (dog?) were spotted on East Rodney French Boulevard between South End Beach and Fort Tabor. Apparently, it was costumes with someone inside of it, as spectators noticed shoes beneath the mobile structures.
“They were awesome, I wish I knew who did all that because they did an amazing job,” local Chelsea Clarkson tells Fun 107, “My kids loved it and so many other people stopped too!”
Talk about strategically planned, the oversized Minecraft structures posted up right as Taylor Elementary was being released for the day. As presumed, the kids went nuts over the trendy video game character that has swept the nation and beyond.
“The talent and time that went into those (Minecraft costumes) were insane,” Clarkson concluded, “I don’t know how long they were there for, but there were people literally inside of them It moved around, it was wild.”
Unfortunately, as I went to investigate, the Minecraft figures were already gone and it was too late for an interview. All I know is whoever was behind this creative project, Kudos to them for the impressive details that were put into it.

If anyone has any information on the whereabouts of the Minecraft people, please reach out to Gazelle@Fun107.com so I can give recognition where it’s deserved. It’s not every day you see something like this in New Bedford, but also not surprised.
