Rocket League Season 8: Everything You Need To Know
Of course, we – beautiful and smart socCar fans – can look forward to numerous new features in the near future. After our favorite game went free-to-play a while ago, Psyonix is releasing new content on a regular basis. So now we’re close to Rocket League Season 8 – a season usually lasts about three months. But when does it finally start?
Season 8 Release Date
As we said before, we are in the last breaths of Rocket League Season 7, which we have been enjoying since the beginning of June. The current season will end on September 7th and will be directly replaced with the launch of Rocket League Season 8.
Remember that just before the grand opening of the new season, there will be a huge update to bring all the content into the game. So if the servers are dead, it’s due to the preparations for the Season 8 launch.
However, you should always keep in mind that the end of the season also means that the Season 7 rewards and the Rocket Pass will soon disappear.
First Gameplay Trailer Revealed
We finally got the first proper trailer for Rocket League Season 8. And it’s awesome. It shows off the season’s theme, which reminds us of Need for Speed Underground (anyone remember that one?). That means: street cars, dark cities, undercar lights and lots more awesomeness.
In the clip, we also see a bunch of the cool new content that’s coming to the game: the new Honda Civic Type R, the new map Sovereign Heights and much more. Find everything on Rocket League Season 8: Hit The Streets here and check out the trailer below:

In this gameplay trailer, Psyonix shows us what to expect in the coming weeks. After we all became snobs during the glamorous Season 7, Rocket League Season 8 takes us back to the streets. Honestly, the theme fits the game 100x better. We also got a first look at the new Battle Car…
New Arena Sovereign Heights Coming
For the first time in a long, long time, Rocket League Season 8 will also feature a new Battle Arena. The beauty is called Sovereign Heights and is located right next to the city’s famous Centered Park – so it is a long way from the birhgt lights of the Utopia Colosseum.

Rocket Pass: Honda Civic And New Tiers
As always, one of the biggest changes will be the new Rocket Pass, which will be updated with the launch of Rocket League Season 8. There will be a free Basic Pass again, as well as an enhanced Premium Rocket Pass – this one comes with additional tiers and rewards, but will need to be purchased.
Additionally, for the first time ever, Psyonix is featuring a real-life car for people who purchase the Premium Rocket Pass. The Honda Civic Type R debuts in Rocket League! There’s also a second – upgraded – version, as well as pretty cool Items and Decals if you grind properly and reach at least level 70.
Ranked Season Reset
In order to advance through the aforementioned tiers of the Rocket Pass and get those sweet rewards, you need to earn XP. You get them (obviously, duh) by playing one of the game modes in Rocket League. If casual gameplay isn’t for you, try some ranked games against real opponents – you start your journey at the bottom of the list and climb your way up the leaderboard through wins and decent performances.
The higher you climb in the leaderboard, the better the rewards are. If you want to start the final push before Rocket League Season 8 comes out, then you should do it between September 1st and September 5th. Psyonix has announced a Double XP Event and a returning LTM during this time period.
Don’t forget, with the launch of the new season, your rank will be reset, and you will have to start over.

Oooooor you just play tournaments if you feel like the standard ranked queue gets boring after a while. Of course, there are also some fresh tournament rewards coming with Rocket League Season 8 – Goal Explosions, Toppers and much more are waiting for you!
Season 7 Recap
If Rocket League Season 8 builds on its predecessor, then we can look forward to numerous changes. For example, the custom training was overhauled with Rocket League Season 7 and got some innovations that the community had been waiting for a long time. In addition, the walls were adjusted. Yes, the walls in the arenas.
While that doesn’t sound important or worth mentioning at all, it made big waves in the Rocket League community prior to Season 7. Even Psyonix felt compelled to address the issue and fix it with an update:
A freestyler sparked a ton of chatter on Twitter and Reddit about ball speed on different Arena walls. We definitely want uniformity in how fast the ball moves in corners, and we’re hoping to have this fixed in time for Season 7. While we use automated testing throughout Rocket League, this was a blind spot for us that we’re going to address moving forward.– Devin Connors, Rocket League Social Media and Community Manager
And with all of that, you are well-informed about the start of Rocket League Season 8. As soon as new information sees the light of day on the internet, we will keep you posted here. Psyonix has at least announced that we will learn more about the new season “soon”. Until then, you should continue to practice your skills and, above all, collect your rewards for the current season.
