Fortnite Chapter 3, Season 3 Weapon Tier List

We still have time before the end of season 3 event arrives and drags us into Season 4 of Fortnite so there is still plenty of time to look at all of the weapons currently available in the standard and no-build modes of Fortnite. This list also only consists of guns and not grenades and other items.

S Tier

The S tier represents the best of the best in Fortnite Season 3 and topping the list has to be the DMR and Combat Assault Rifle. The DMR is the perfect weapon for the long-range player, combining the reach of a sniper rifle with the rate of fire and damage of an assault rifle. The Combat Assault Rifle, meanwhile is the best automatic weapon in the game right now thanks to its versatility, being able to easily spray foes up close or snipe from a distance.

The Prime Shotgun and Stinger SMG, while more situational, are undeniably powerful, being able to tear through opponents with ease.

A Tier

The Striker Burst Rifle is one of the best weapons in the Fortnite weapon tier list.

  • Two-Shot Shotgun

The A Tier represents the weapons that are edging on the S Tier in quality but are held back for one reason or another. The undisputed top of this list is the Striker Burst Rifle, an excellent damage dealer even after being nerfed, the Striker Burst Rifle stays out of the top tier due to its recoil requiring some practice. The Hammer Assault Rifle also has this issue though it’s slightly easier to adapt to.

The other two weapons, the Heavy Sniper Rifle and Two-Shot Shotgun are both kept out of the top tier due to how slow they are. For the Sniper Rifle, this is down to the magazine size of one bullet and the Two-Shot Shotgun’s horrendous reload speed.

B Tier

Ranger Assault Rifle is in the B Tier of the Fortnite weapon tier list

The B Tier is the weapons that are useful but aren’t really anything special. The Ranger Assault Rifle has its uses and a higher-tier one is certainly worth picking up and using but there are better options to go for.

The Sidearm Pistol, meanwhile, is actually a pretty good weapon to use as a last resort, with a great reload time, rate of fire and DPS potential at higher tiers. You’ll likely never keep one for long but if the rarity is there, there are worse weapons to have.

C Tier

Fortnite Revolver is in the C tier or the weapon tier list.

The C tier represents the weapons that could be good and sound good on paper but just aren’t. While the Revolver can be a really fun weapon to use in Fortnite, it’s painfully slow and if you want to take a game seriously, you’re better off leaving it and just taking the ammo instead. The Auto Shotgun doesn’t have much going for it meanwhile, often leaving players exposed and quickly eliminated.

D Tier

Charged SMG is in the D tier of the Fortnite weapon tier list.

Finally…we have the D tier. The dirt worst. The weapons that you should only ever pick up if absolutely necessary. The Striker Pump Shotgun used to be an undisputed king of the battle royale but many very needed nerf have gone too far, making it just flat-out impractical.

Then we have the Charged SMG which is just pretty much useless. Sure it has a great potential damage output but the slow charge-up, the wild inaccuracy and the ability to chew through your ammo make it just a waste of time.
