The MLB DFS Dinger of the Day – July 30, 2022 (7/30/22) – FantasyCruncher.com DFS Articles & Insights – fantasycruncher.com

Every day this season, our team shares who we believe has the best chance to leave the yard. From one-off plays to core parts of daily stacks, we hope this fun article will help you build winning MLB DFS lineups along the way.

As always, FantasyCruncher has several daily articles from pitching to stacking, to home run picks, to general cheat sheets to help you build your daily lineups. And the best news, it is all free! This year for 2022, we are changing up the scoring for the home run calls to be weighted based on the player’s salary. If one of our writers chooses a player with a salary over $5,000 it will be worth 0.5 points. Between $4-$4.9k is 1 point, $3-$3.9k is 2 points, and anyone $2.9k or below is worth 3 points. In terms of salary, we are going off of DraftKings salary for this article. Again, the scoring system is just a fun and friendly competition between our MLB content writers.

Today’s Picks

James: Christian Walker ($3,500) – Ian Anderson has struggled compared to his 2021 numbers and has struggled a ton pitching at home. In Atlanta, Anderson has a 6.43 ERA and a 1.81 WHIP. He also is pitching to some strong reverse splits as righties are batting .322 and slugging .520 against him. Walker sees lefties a little better, but he still has 17 long balls against righties on the year. While Anderson isn’t a guy who gives up a ton of homers, he clearly isn’t right at home right now per his recent numbers.

Zach: Nate Lowe ($3,200) – Chase Silseth is being called up to start for the Angels and we can expect him to give up a long ball or two tonight. In his previous six starts, this season Silseth has allowed six home runs in 24.2 innings of action which works out to be an HR/9 rate of 2.19. Of those six home runs, five have been hit by left-handed hitters who are slashing .357/.413/.762 with a .493 wOBA against Silseth.

Jared: Freddie Freeman ($6,100) – Kyle Freeland has been a great pitcher on the road but put him in Coors and his numbers jump to a 5.66 ERA and a .306 opponent batting average. Lefties have actually hit Freeland well this year at .308/.533. Freeman, a professional hitter, sees both sides of the plate well so playing a home run call in the Denver air will play here. I know, not very original.

Overall Standings

James 25 (22 total home runs)
Zach 37.5 (24 total home runs)
Jared 28.5 (19 total home runs)
