Digging into today’s MLB DFS slate to highlight your best bats to stack.
This article will cover two to three teams that we think are the most stackable for MLB contests. If you are newer to DFS or MLB or want a general refresher on the impact of stacking in MLB, check out our MLB Lineup Strategy refresher article.
Atlanta Braves (vs. Reid Detmers)
Detmers has had a solid season so far but has been vulnerable at times against RHB and I like the spot for the Braves today against the fly ball pitcher on a slate that doesn’t have a whole lot of very poor pitchers taking the ball for their teams. The price point on some of the key RHB here will help keep ownership levels in check, though don’t expect things to be too low as the Braves do come into this one projected for 5.1 runs. Detmers has been pretty boom/bust in his outings with his last eights starts splitting evenly with four games allowing 2 HR and four games allowing none. I like the idea of getting exposure to ATL bats in a fair number of builds today, and I think they’ll be lower owned than a few other options on the slate (NYY, TOR).
Milwaukee Brewers (vs. Colorado Rockies)
Chad Kuhl comes into this one on a stretch of starts that have been below average at best. He doesn’t miss many bats, sitting at 6.36 K/9 and that, in combination with the fact that he is a fly ball pitcher who comes into this one with poor recent form have me intrigued about stacking MIL bats today. Since his CG shutout against the Dodgers, the next three starts have seen opposing hitters post a .416 wOBA to go along with an ERA north of 7.50 and 4 HR in 14.2 IP. All in all, I like the spot here for Milwaukee as they go up against a hittable RHP and you can get exposure to the key cogs in their line-up at affordable price points here on Sunday.
