Favorite Plays

Skylar Diggins-Smith

If I am spending up for any one player on this slate it is going to be Diggins-Smith. Diggins-Smith in my eyes is playing the best basketball of her career and has been the best player in the WNBA in the month of June. In her eight games this month Diggins-Smith is averaging 20.8 points, 3.6 rebounds, 5.8 assists, two steals, and 1.1 blocks. Diggins-Smith has at least 37 fantasy points in seven of those eight games and is averaging 37.9 fantasy points per game during this stretch. I also like the match-up for Diggins-Smith tonight against the Lynx. The Lynx allows the fourth-most points per game and most assists per game this season. Diggins-Smith also had a huge game against them in their meeting on Tuesday going for 25 points and six assists on her way to 42.4 fantasy points.

Katie Lou Samuelson

Lou Samuelson is the perfect cheaper guard to target on this slate as she has put up very solid numbers since moving into the Sparks starting lineup eight games ago. In those eight games, Lou Samuelson is averaging 12.9 points, 2.6 rebounds, 1.9 assists, and 1.3 steals in 29.7 minutes of action. Lou Samuelson has produced at least 19 fantasy points in six of those eight games and is averaging 22.3 fantasy points per game during this time period.

Nneka Ogwumike

Ogwumike is my favorite stud forward on this slate for a couple of reasons. The first is she is playing consistent basketball with at least 31 fantasy points in all but two games this season and is averaging 35 fantasy points per game for the season. The 35 fantasy points per game are the third-highest among forwards on this slate and the fourth-highest on the slate overall. Another reason why I like Ogwumike tonight is due to the fact her sister Chiney is going to miss tonight’s game. With Chiney out that should lead to an even bigger role than normal for Ogwumike. While the match-up against the Sky is not a deciding factor for me on Ogwumike tonight I do like the fact that when they faced off earlier in the season she went for 36.4 fantasy points.

Teaira McCowan

McCowan is a huge risk as we really never know how many minutes she is going to play. With that said she is a risk I am willing to take as she has played fairly well in her past five games. In those five games, she has played over 15 minutes four times and in those four games, she is averaging 20.75 fantasy points per game. While I cannot say for sure that McCowan is going to play 15-plus minutes again tonight I don’t see why she wouldn’t with Satou Sabally still out. McCowan’s match-up against her former team the Fever also stands out to me tonight. The Fever have allowed the most points per game this season and rank in the bottom half of the league in team rebounding rate.
