Top DFS Plays for UFC 275: Teixeira vs Prochazka (6/11/22)
The UFC returns for more MMA action from Singapore. Our analysis will take a deeper look at some of my favorite plays for DFS contests on Saturday.
Fighter to Build Your Lineups Around
STEVE GARCIA (DK $8,400 / FD $19) – Garcia doesn’t have the dominating odds to win that one would hope for, but his finishing history and early success in the UFC have me looking to catch this rising star on his way up. He is 5-1 over his last six fights with 4 finishes during that span (2 first-round finishes and 2 second-round finishes). He earned his UFC contract with a first-round TKO in the Contender Series, and he has gone 2-1 since with his only loss coming by decision to Luis Peña. He will face Maheshate Hayisaer who is making his UFC debut after earning his shot via the Contender Series as well. Garcia has already proven he was what it takes to win at this level, and he has good finishing potential in every fight. I like Garcia to get a finish on Saturday – at a salary just above average on DraftKings.
(At the time of this writing, Steve Garcia is -185 with the oddsmakers and has a projected score of 64.35 on Fantasy Cruncher.)
Fighter with the Best Value
JACK DELLA MADDALENA (DK $8,200 / FD $17) – Since losing a pair of fights to begin his professional career, Maddalena has gone on to win 11 straight with 9 wins by KO/TKO, 1 win by submission, and 1 win by decision. After earning his shot in the UFC through the Contender Series, Maddalena delivered a TKO win over Pete Rodriguez inside of three minutes in his debut. Maddalena will face Ramazan Emeev who is an established fighter with strong all-around skills. Maddalena isn’t the biggest favorite on this card, but with 10 finishes in 11 wins he knows how to earn conclusion bonuses. Use him cautiously, but his value is off the charts due to his very average salary on both platforms.
(At the time of this writing, Jack Della Maddalena is -169 with the oddsmakers and has a projected score of 65.64 on Fantasy Cruncher.)
Fighter with the Best Upset Potential
NA LIANG (DK $7,600 / FD $15) – Liang is +140 to win inside the distance as an underdog. Her opponent, Silvana Gomez Juarez, is only +180 to get a finish. That’s because in 19 career wins she has 17 wins inside the distance (she also has 2 wins by disqualification – she has never won by decision). Of those 17 wins inside the distance, she has 16 of those in the first-round (to go with 1 second-round finish). This fight is -325 favorite to end inside the distance on Saturday. Liang is a slight -101 underdog in this one, but if she is able to score the upset, it figures to be another finish. Liang presents lots of scoring potential, and she is an underdog with a lot of bite and a real chance to win.
(At the time of this writing, Na Liang is -101 with the oddsmakers and has a projected score of 58.54 on DraftKings.)
That’s all for this week. Good luck with your lineups!
