Favorite Plays
Diamond DeShields
DeShields had a bad game last time out against the Sun. In that game, DeShields only was able to produce 19.1 fantasy points. While that game sucked as I had a lot of exposure to DeShields I am not worried about it for a couple of reasons. The first is DeShields had been playing great basketball this season and came into her last game producing at least 25 fantasy points in four of her previous five games with at least 29 fantasy points in three straight games. Another reason I am not worried about DeShields is the match-up against the Sparks. The Sparks have struggled on the defensive end of the court this season allowing the second-most points per game. DeShields also had a big game against them when they faced off earlier in the season. In that game, DeShields went for 17/5/9 with a steal on her way to 36.5 fantasy points.
Rhyne Howard
When I initially looked at this slate I didn’t think I was going to have much exposure to Howard. In fact, if you look at the Cheat Sheets which is a list of the players I have the most exposure to as of this writing Howard is not on them. I have a feeling by the time lock comes around that Howard is going to be in a ton of my lineups. The reason why I feel this is going to take place even with Howard hitting a bit of a rookie wall with less than 12 fantasy points in two of her past four games is due to her match-up against the Fever. The Fever have allowed the most points per game this season and rank in the bottom four in fantasy points allowed per game to guards. Howard has also played well against them in their previous two meetings. In those two games, Howard is averaging 26 points, four rebounds, 1.5 assists, two steals, and 37.55 fantasy points.
Syndey Colson
If you look at Colson’s game logs you are not going to want to roster her. Colson has produced double-digit fantasy points exactly once this season and has not played more than 15 minutes in a game this season. While those numbers are bad I am willing to take a big chance on Colson at her dirt-cheap salary today as she is in line for some heavy minutes in this one. Jackie Young has been ruled out of today’s game for the Aces and Colson is expected to start in her place. If that does happen we are likely going to see 20 plus minutes from Colson.
Satou Sabally
I know I am a broken record as the Wings are playing and Sabally is in this article but until the sites raise her salary I am going to be rostering Sabally. Sabally has just been that good since returning to the Wings and being fully interacted back into the rotation after they gave her limited minutes in her first two games back. In her past three games, Sabally has played at least 22 minutes and has started the past two games. In those three games, Sabally is averaging 13.67 points, 6.33 rebounds, and four assists. Sabally has at least 24 fantasy points in each of those games and is averaging over a fantasy point per minute in those games.
Shakira Austin
With the Mystics finally having most of their players back Austin has taken a back seat recently playing less than 20 minutes in each of her last three games. Austin produced a total of 30.4 fantasy points in those three games. Those numbers say you should avoid Austin when the Mystics are healthy. The good news for us today however is that the Mystics are not healthy. Elena Delle Donne has been ruled out for today’s game and that is going to mean we should see Austin back to playing heavy minutes. In two of the three previous games that EDD has missed Austin has played at least 14 minutes and produced at least 25 fantasy points.
