UNGENTIUM (UNGTM) v.s. ECSTATIC (EST) (7:00 AM EST)
UNGTM was able to escape a nail-biter in their previous matchup and will now face an even higher-ranked team in EST this match. The battle of the snipers will be crucial in this one with m4tthi coming off a +23 kill-death differential game against a good sniper in his last matchup and is still the most efficient player on his team with a 1.08 K/D. Despite EST’s main sniper in WolfY having a lower damage per round (67.5) compared to m4tthi’s 72., EST has the highest damage dealer in FASHR to potentially cause problems (82.3). This should ease the stress off of the other EST players especially when they have more players closer to the damage range of 80+. However, since the slaying efficiency is closer to even across the board for UNGTM they still have the ability to keep the series close. In other words, this can go either way, but the snipers will definitely play a large factor.
Heroic (HERO) v.s. Apeks (APK) (10:00 AM EST)
HERO will make their ESL debut against a team on the rise in APK who were able to defeat their last opponent despite being out slayed which should make this match interesting. The most efficient slayer in nawwk (1.18 K/D) for APK will be coming off a +13 kill-death differential game and more than likely have to lead the way for his team as the main sniper since their highest damage dealer in jkaem has regressed slightly from last game. This could also be good timing for nawwk with cadiaN coming off a negative kill-death differential in HERO’s last game. However, stavn has still maintained a high damage rate per round at 88.6 which is the highest of both teams. HERO has the higher rate of saving teammates per round (sjuush specifically at 0.13) which may be the edge to prevail objectively. Also, APK can’t rely only on their sniper to perform well and win against a more experienced and higher ranked team in HERO compared to their last opponent.
SKADE (SKA) v.s. Dignitas (DIG) (1:00 PM EST)
Both teams enter this match on win streaks with SKA having the higher of the two at two games, while DIG will try to build off of one game. SKA was able to sweep DIG last time 2-0 which bodes well for them trying to repeat what worked in that last series. The fact that dream3r dominated the last matchup with a +26 kill-death differential and is the most efficient player for SKA currently can cause a massive problem for DIG. The consistency of dennyslaw as of late (1.21) should help his SKA teammates as well with the sniper in his hands. Since no one of DIG is nowhere near that range in slaying as of late this match may end up a drag for them and potentially go in the favor of SKA’s.
