Core Plays

Justin Allgaier – $11,500 – Starting 24

While Justin Allgaier is the most expensive play on this slate, it is hard to discredit the success he has had at Phoenix in the past. In his last ten races here, Allgaier has led at least 32 laps in seven of those starts, and 51 or more in six of them. Allgaier grades out with the highest driver rating at this track by a long shot and has not finished outside the top ten in his last three races. Allgaier has success on the 1-mile short tracks and has said in the past that this is a track he is very comfortable at – which is funny because this is kind of an oddly shaped track in general. Allgaier started 16th last week and still managed to lead 62 laps and have 25 of the fastest. I really don’t think the starting position matters much here, as Allgaier has the equipment to hold/make it to the front regardless. I am kind of hoping the higher price lowers the ownership here.

Kyle Sieg – $6,700 – Starting 20

Sieg has been a consistent hub of value so far this season as through three races he has fantasy outputs of 35, 45, and 36. Sieg has finished with +8, +20, and +15 place differential in his three races and will start X on Saturday leading to some more potential value. Sieg is no clear shot value here as we speak often about how the sub 7k options in Xfinity are all “equipment due to fail”, but so far it has been clean skating for the RSS team. Sieg has also run ARCA races at Phoenix, netting him a 4th place finish in his last race here.
