Will FIFA 23 be cross-platform? – GIVEMESPORT

One thing in FIFA users has been dying for since the early games are the idea of cross-platform play.

It comes down to the age-old question; Xbox orPlayStation? There is nothing worse than making a new friend only to find out you can’t battle it out in a game of FIFA as they own what they think is the superior console.

You also have FIFA players who exclusively use PC, although not as popular – they would greatly benefit from something like cross-platform as it provides a more competitive skill gap for them, as well as regulating the market in FIFA Ultimate Team.

So with the new title set to come out this year – will it finally feature cross-platform gameplay?

In simple terms, cross-platform means that it is able to be used on different types of computers or with different software packages.

So this would mean a game that is cross-platform allows players from all different consoles to still play together.

Many games have implemented cross-platform already, with some big titles being Among Us, Apex Legends and Rocket League all having the privilege of the feature.

According to a report from XFIRE, cross-platforming is coming to FIFA 23!

For the first time in the franchise’s history, players across PC, PlayStation and Xbox devices will be able to play together.

According to the source, the cross-platforming will bring FIFA players across the PlayStation, Xbox and PC platforms together for all of the title’s game modes – which is absolutely huge for many reasons.

So not only now can you play against your mates no matter the console, but it also opens up the idea for one big cross-platform market in EA’s popular mode – FIFA Ultimate Team.

Players will have their reservations with this, with many already worried about the prospect of hacks and cheats on PC, in particular, influencing how everything works. So it’ll be interesting to see how EA will be combatting this.

Despite this – cross-platform play will be a brilliant addition to the game and has been long-awaited by the FIFA community for some time now. Well done EA!
