The NBA Rundown – FanDuel & DraftKings NBA DFS Picks – February 27, 2022 (2/27/22) – FantasyCruncher.com DFS Articles & Insights – fantasycruncher.com

Please note that players on DraftKings and FanDuel have multi-position eligibility and may not always match their position between each other. In this article, we will be breaking down some of our favorite plays on the slate at their positions. Remember to keep your eye on the news as the day progresses, as NBA news frequently changes the slate.

Point Guard

C.J. McCollum ($8,900 DK, $8,600 FD)

PLAYER TEAM GP W L MIN PTS TOUCHES REB CHANCES POTENTIAL AST
CJ McCollum NOP 41 16 25 35.4 21.5 64 7.5 9.3

C.J. has left the sinking ship in Portland and found his footing in New Orleans as an offensive force. Over his last five games, he’s averaged 31.8 points, 5.8 rebounds, 5.2 assists, and 1.4 steals over 36.5 minutes per game. Tonight’s matchup against the “Brow-less” Lakers is a favorable one, L.A. is playing at the 5th fastest Pace in the league, and they lack perimeter defense to stop the ball.

Shooting Guard

Cade Cunningham ($7,100 DK, $6,200 FD)

PLAYER TEAM GP W L MIN PTS TOUCHES REB CHANCES POTENTIAL AST
Cade Cunningham DET 44 13 31 31.8 15.8 73.3 9.1 10

Anytime the Hornets are on the schedule, you have the potential for a shootout. They have a high-powered offense and poor defense. The Pistons are ranked 25th in Defensive Rating themselves, so we have a friendly game environment for fantasy production with this matchup. Over his last 3 games, Cade averaged 20.6 points, 7 rebounds, and 5 assists across 31 minutes per game. Cade should have no problem stuffing the stat sheet tonight, and he has potential for a ceiling game.

Small Forward

Miles Bridges ($7,900 DK, $8,000 FD)

PLAYER TEAM GP W L MIN PTS TOUCHES REB CHANCES POTENTIAL AST
Miles Bridges CHA 57 27 30 36.2 20.2 61.8 12.3 6.6

Everything said previously about this matchup applies here; it should be a game environment where we can select multiple pieces and include them in our tournament lineups with confidence. Bridges flashed his upside numerous times this season, posting multiple 60+ fantasy point outings; I like his shot at another one tonight against the Pistons. Detriot ranks 24th in fantasy points allowed to the small forward position.

Power Forward

Marcus Morris ($6,000 DK, $6,200 FD)

PLAYER TEAM GP W L MIN PTS TOUCHES REB CHANCES POTENTIAL AST
Marcus Morris LAC 35 16 19 29.8 15.9 42.7 7.4 3.6

The power forward position is thin tonight, there are no options priced above 8k, and our choices are less than glamourous. The Clippers continue to be without their star players due to injuries, but they have a relatively easy matchup against the Rockets tonight. Houston ranks dead last in Defensive Rating and first in Pace. We also saw this same matchup a few days ago; Morris scored 40.25 fantasy points across 25 minutes played.

Center

Dwight Howard ($3,000 DK, $3,700 FD)

PLAYER TEAM GP W L MIN PTS TOUCHES REB CHANCES POTENTIAL AST
Dwight Howard LAL 42 18 24 14.4 5.1 20.9 10.2 1

Howard is looking like he will be the most popular play tonight on DraftKings; in his last game, he started and scored 44.50 fantasy points in 26 minutes. While there’s a bit of recency bias baked in here, it’s hard to argue with the minimum salary on Draftkings for a 1.07 fantasy point per minute player like Howard. We also have some uncertainty with Lebron James’ status; he’s currently a game-time decision. Assuming Howard starts again, he’s worth eating the chalk in this spot.
