The Playoffs are here and we couldn’t be more excited to bring back our core plays article for the playoffs.
For those of you who are not familiar with our core plays article, these are the players that we recommend having the most exposure to on a slate or players you should build your lineups around for cash games. We will be focusing on the Sat-Mon slate that includes all six games. If you are looking for a list of players specific to each slate make sure to check out our cheat sheets that Jared posted earlier in the week.
Quarterback
Joe Burrow
There are so many great quarterbacks on this slate but Burrow stands out to me as the best of the bunch based on the way he played in his last two games. In those games, in weeks 16 and 17 as Burrow took the regular-season finale off Burrow threw for 971 yards and eight touchdowns. Burrow had at least 37 fantasy points in each of those games. Now, the Raiders pass defense is a solid unit but they are also one that can get burned by great quarterbacks as was the case last week against Justin Herbert.
Running Back
Leonard Fournette
Fournette is expected to return for the playoffs and I don’t see how you don’t roster him as they don’t call him Playoff Lenny for no reason. In his seven career playoff games, Fournette is averaging 77.4 yards rushing and has seven touchdowns. Fournette also has 25 catches for 192 years and a score in those games.
Wide Receiver
Cedrick Wilson
I really like Wilson as a cheaper option at the receiver position due to Michael Gallup being out. Wilson has put up some solid numbers in the eight regular-season games that Gallup missed with totals of 21 catches for 375 yards and five touchdowns. Wilson has especially been hot over the past two weeks for Dallas. In those two games, Wilson has 11 catches on 12 targets for 154 yards and three scores. Wilson has at least 18 fantasy points in each of those games.
Tight End
Rob Gronkowski
Gronk is the second most expensive tight end on this slate behind Travis Kelce but should be well worth every dollar. I say this for two reasons. The first is the numbers Gronk has put up the past two weeks with the Bucs down at the receiver position which is the case again this week. Gronk has seen ten targets in both of those games and has seven catches for over 100 yards in both of those games. The second reason why I think Gronk is going to be well worth every penny is due to the match-up against the Eagles. There was not a better match-up in the NFL for tight ends during the regular season than the Eagles. The Eagles ranked dead last in receptions allowed, touchdowns, and fantasy points allowed per game to the position during the regular season.
