FlyQuest (FLY) v.s. 100 Thieves (100) (3:30 PM EST) (-413 100)

After a rough start for FLY, today’s matchup won’t get any easier as they face the top team in the group in 100. 100 has swept their opponents so far in their series and also have been strong objectively (+11 tower difference) compared to FLY’s -7. FLY’s players have also been dying in battle at a pretty high rate (19) compared to 100T who is not even in double-digits yet death wise.  This plays out perfectly for FBI/Abbedagge who happen to deal the most damage for 100 currently, at 27.4/27.2% in bot and mid-lane. Since FLY have been struggling objectively and have a high death rate it will be difficult to see them pulling off the upset here.

Counter Logic Gaming (CLG) v.s. Team Liquid (4:30 PM EST) (-525 TL)

Both of these teams are sitting at 1-1 records currently in their group and are looking to rebound off a one game loss so far. Bjersen has seemed to mesh will with his new TL squad and is the most efficient mid-laner out of both teams with an 8.5 KDA. This should give TL an even better chance at an early push especially with a current 100% first-blood & tower rate. Although, Luger (4.3 KDA) has been dealing the most amount of damage for his CLG team with 31.5%, TL has a bot-laner in Hans sama (8 KDA) on the bench that can be brought it to counter him. Therefore, CLG may find themselves down early in this matchup and clawing back in, but it may not be enough.

Cloud9 (C9) v.s. Team SoloMid Academy (TSM) (5:30 PM EST) (-348 C9)

TSM’s Academy team was able to fill in for the main team and grab a win out of their two games but lost to the top team in the league and now have the challenge of facing the second-best team in C9. C9 has also been dealing a large gap of damage per minute (2643) compared to TSM’s 1911. This will put a lot of pressure on Instinct who has been the most efficient slayer for 100 thus far with a 3.8 KDA at the bot-lane position as he faces off with opposing bot-laner Zven. Fortunately, for C9 Zven may be able to slow down Instinct since he’s been dealing the most damage for C9 so far at 33.4% and with an 8 KDA. That being said it would be up to V1PER to try and help Instinct but his opposing top-laner in Darshan is twice as efficient as him slaying wise. The pieces are just more in place for C9 to win especially with 4.5 dragons per game (which should set them up well for control) against TSM’s 2.

Evil Geniuses (EG) v.s. Immortals (IMT) (6:30 PM EST) (-192 EG)

After a mediocre finish last season and lack of slaying efficiency, EG have been off to a strong start so far and get the fortune of playing the worst team in the group right now in IMT. EG also twice the damage per minute overall as a team (2952) compared to IMT’s (1402) so this already sets them up for a great start. IMT’s best chances to get an upset here would be to try and out-slay EG right away since both teams are even at 50% first-blood rate. However, PowerOfEvil is the second least efficient slayer for his IMT team at a 1.6 KDA (mid-laner), and would have to face off with the second highest damage dealer in jojopyun in mid-lane with a 4.2 KDA so the chances for IMT become even more slim of succeeding.
