Thursday night gives us a full slate of action, with 11 games on the schedule. As is the case on most nights like this – there is no shortage of ways to go about building line-ups, and ownership levels will be fairly spread out in large field GPP contests. Colorado’s top line/PP unit will likely be the highest owned stacking option tonight – not shocking on a slate without Edmonton or Toronto on it with the Avs checking in as -235 favorites on home ice tonight in a plus match-up against the Jets. On a slate this deep, I do think you can make a case for a game theory fade here – there are no shortage of options, but if you do go that route in large field GPP contests, just be aware that it could sink your night if they break the slate.
If you are looking for a team that I really like that has the potential to fly under the radar, I do like the spot for CHI1/PP1 tonight on the road in the desert against the Coyotes. They sit as only -140 favorites, which is a very low number compared to most opponents for Arizona this season – and while they have not been juggernauts themselves, I do like the upside for some of the best options on the Hawks, led by Patty Kane.
