The NBA Rundown – FanDuel & DraftKings NBA DFS Picks – January 1, 2022 (1/1/22) – FantasyCruncher.com DFS Articles & Insights – fantasycruncher.com

Please note that players on DraftKings and FanDuel have multi-position eligibility and may not always match their position between each other. In this article, we will be breaking down some of our favorite plays on the slate at their positions. Remember to keep your eye on the news as the day progresses, as NBA news frequently changes the slate.

Point Guard

Facundo Campazzo ($4,200 DK, $5,500 FD)

Facundo Campazzo DEN 32 16 16 21.1 6.4 45.9 3.5 6.9

It will be a bit of a “wait and see” approach with Denver tonight based on who can suit up, but the matchup against Houston is second to none from a DFS perspective. Houston currently owns the 29th ranked Defensive Rating and is playing at the third-fastest pace in the league. Campazzo has met or exceeded value 8 out of the last nine games using the Draftkings pricing algorithm, and tonight he’s $1,300 cheaper over on DK. The Rockets are ranked 25th in fantasy points allowed to the point guard position.

Shooting Guard

Bradley Beal ($10,300 DK, $8,700 FD)

PLAYER TEAM GP W L MIN PTS TOUCHES REB CHANCES POTENTIAL AST
Bradley Beal WAS 29 14 15 35.8 23.5 72.2 7.8 11.1

While Campazzo is a better play on DraftKings tonight, we have the opposite effect with Bradley Beal as he’s under 9k on FD. The Bulls have been excellent this season and have proven to be a legit team in the Eastern Conference, so the Wizards will need a strong Beal performance to compete in this one. In 602 minutes with Dinwiddie off the floor, Beal is averaging 1.20 fantasy points per minute.

Small Forward

Saddiq Bey ($8,200 DK, $6,700 FD)

PLAYER TEAM GP W L MIN PTS TOUCHES REB CHANCES POTENTIAL AST
Saddiq Bey DET 33 5 28 33.3 14.5 49.6 9.4 4.9

DraftKings did us all a favor by tightening up the pricing on the DET players; however, the same cannot be said about Fanduel. In Detroit’s last game, they put up a mere 85 points but still produced two slate-breaking fantasy performances from Saddiq Bey & Diallo, scoring a combined 63 actual points and 112 DK points. We can’t ignore these guys, especially over on Fanduel.

Power Forward

DeMar DeRozan ($9,700 DK, $8,800 FD)

PLAYER TEAM GP W L MIN PTS TOUCHES REB CHANCES POTENTIAL AST
DeMar DeRozan CHI 29 21 8 35.2 26.8 59.8 8.8 9.5

The Bulls take on the Wizards tonight in Washington, as we mentioned previously. Currently, the Wiz owns the 22nd ranked Defensive Rating, and they are playing at a 24th ranked pace. In 171 minutes with Caruso and Ball off the floor, DeRozan is averaging 1.25 fantasy points per minute.

Center

Nikola Jokic ($12,600 DK, $11,700 FD)

PLAYER TEAM GP W L MIN PTS TOUCHES REB CHANCES POTENTIAL AST
Nikola Jokic DEN 28 16 12 32.7 25.8 100.8 21.3 13.2

The reigning league MVP is doing his best to keep the team afloat amidst all the injuries and health and safety protocols, and he’s doing a decent job at it. The Nuggets are 6-4 in their last ten games and one above .500. We’ve seen Jokic’s assist production fall off a bit lately, but he’s making up for it in the scoring and rebounding department. Over the last three games, Jokic has been averaging 25.6 points, 20.3 rebounds, six assists, and 3.3 stocks. The Rockets are ranked 26th in fantasy points allowed to the center position. Jokic is my favorite pay-up option tonight.
