A Rocket League-inspired game mode coming to Call of Duty? > NAG – NAG

The Warzone 2 and Modern Warfare 2 Season 1 update dropped this week and while many have been enjoying the new content and features, proximity chat being among the fan favourites, the game has been plagued with server issues and bugs.

One of the most popular multiplayer maps from Modern Warfare 2019 was Shoothouse and alongside the release of Warzone 2, Modern Warfare 2 dropped a Shoothouse 24/7 playlist. The map has a slightly different look and feel but still has all the lovely head glitches the snipers and camo grinders loved in the previous Modern Warfare.

You should also get ready to destroy your k/d ratio with the smallest map in the Call of Duty series as the chaotic Shipment has also been confirmed to be coming later in the season. This is one of those maps that players either love or just completely avoid. Which side are you on?

Then, as the FIFA World Cup kicks off this weekend, there will also be a new Rocket League-inspired mode coming to COD later this month. Named CODBall, this game mode will feature international football stars Neymar Jr. Pogba and Messi, both of whom are coming to Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone. Images leaked by data miner CODSploitzImgz, show players riding ATV’s in a football stadium with the objective being to hit the ball into the opposing team’s net.

Things haven’t been exactly smooth sailing for Modern Warfare 2 since it launched though. Many players experienced bugs and server issues and it continues to feel a bit like an unfinished game. For some, the problems started even before they get into a game, some players were simply unable to get into the main menu due to server problems, while others experienced a buggy game interface, making it impossible to invite friends to play with. Once you’re finally in the game it’s not uncommon to encounter players attempting “God mode” and XP glitches.

While bugs can be expected when playing newly released games, the sheer number of issues has been worrying. Activision says it’s working hard to fix these issues and will be releasing an update today, this one will allow players to access their social menu and invite their friends.

Call of Duty has long been the place where gamers settle their differences. Got an issue with a fellow gamer? Meet them in Rust or Speedball for a 1v1. However, this too was is an issue until recently as gamers did not have the ability to create a private match. Now that it’s been fixed, there is no small 1v1 style map to challenge someone in.

To add injury to insult, for the ultimate try-hards there is currently no competitive CDL-type playlist either, and the prestige system was only released this week. Moreover, the combat record was also only released this week. I mean, why wouldn’t they let me see how useless I was at this game from the start?

These are all features that die-hard COD fans expected to see from day one, were they just not being prioritised?
