Dmitri Van de Vrie “Mitr0”, one of the most famous fortnite players ever has announced he’s quitting fortnite.
The announcement was posted on twitter immediately after Team Liquid’s tweet announcing the departure of Dmitri.

Mitr0’s career on Fortnite began in September 2017; he started to upload high kills game videos, world records and playing against worldwide superstars on his youtube channel. The level of popularity he had achieved thanks to his videos meant that he had to be invited to the first Fornite tournaments. Dmitri manages to win the Blitz Solo Showdown, attracting the attention of Team Atlantis. Mitr0 is invited to participate in several summer skirmishes, winning several and earning over a hundred thousand dollars. Throughout 2018 he manages to place high on the leaderboard in several tournaments, taking home two hundred and fifty thousand dollars in total.

On 31 March 2019, Mitr0 started playing as a duo with Mongraal, destroying opponents by winning the luxe cup in Europe. He manages to qualify for the world cup in duo during the first week of qualifying. He doesn’t qualify for the solo event, but in return, he finished the world cup finals duo finals in top 6.

After winning everything with Mongraal and Benjyfishy, the legendary triom he has been in the spotlight for a scandal concerning his contract. On 16 September 2019, #FreeMitr0 began trending on Twitter, so after many disputes, Team Atlantis and the pro-Fortnite player mutually announced a split on Twitter.

In January 2020, mitr0 announced he was joining Team Liquid.
As time goes by, mitr0 continues to place high in tournaments, play with pros and grow on social media. Mitr0 doesn’t win an FNCS until season 4 of chapter 2, where he, Mongraal, and Tayson manage to win the fncs pickaxe.

In the remainder of 2021, he continued to play and made several placings but nothing striking. His decline started in 2022. He stopped streaming, doing content, placing, or even playing. Mitr0 disappeared from the scene until he announced his retirement from Fortnite a while ago.
