The MLB DFS Dinger of the Day – August 7, 2022 (8/7/22) – FantasyCruncher.com DFS Articles & Insights – fantasycruncher.com

Every day this season, our team shares who we believe has the best chance to leave the yard. From one-off plays to core parts of daily stacks, we hope this fun article will help you build winning MLB DFS lineups along the way.

As always, FantasyCruncher has several daily articles from pitching to stacking, to home run picks, to general cheat sheets to help you build your daily lineups. And the best news, it is all free! This year for 2022, we are changing up the scoring for the home run calls to be weighted based on the player’s salary. If one of our writers chooses a player with a salary over $5,000 it will be worth 0.5 points. Between $4-$4.9k is 1 point, $3-$3.9k is 2 points, and anyone $2.9k or below is worth 3 points. In terms of salary, we are going off of DraftKings salary for this article. Again, the scoring system is just a fun and friendly competition between our MLB content writers.

Today’s Picks

James: Anthony Santander ($4,500) – Bryse Wilson gave up three homers in his last start and has been crushed by left-handed hitting on the season allowing them to hit .391 and slug .686. While homers haven’t been a massive issue, he has still allowed 11 on the year in just 11 starts. Santander has two homers over his last ten games but is swinging a hot bat with a .643 slugging and .381 average.

Zach: Vincent Pasquantino ($2,100) – Pasquantino is Jared’s favorite pick in this article lately and I am going to steal him from him today as I like Pasquantino as well today. I like the young lefty based on what we have seen from him at the plate lately. Pasquantino has not gone deep since the break but he has hits in ten of those 14 games with two doubles. I also like his match-up against Kutter Crawford who might have the best pitcher’s name in baseball. Crawford this season is allowing lefties to slug .506 while having an HR/9 rate of 2.05 against them this season.

Jared: Cedric Mullins ($4,900) – Bryse Wilson toes the rubber here today for the Pirates, and is certainly struggling a bit of late. His 1.84 HR/9 in his last 3 starts is the worst on the board this afternoon, and he continues to allow a ton of hard contact (48% in that span) while not doing the greatest job missing bats in the process (5.3% whiff%). Meanwhile, Mullins has been hittng the ball well over his last week of action (94.9 mph exit velocity, 55.6% hard hit rate, 11.1% barrel rate) with a 174 wRC+ – but has only left the yard once in that time. Things are looking up for him here, and I’m really keen to get back on the board in this competition!

 Overall Standings

James 26 (24 total home runs)
Zach 40 (26 total home runs)
Jared 28.5 (19 total home runs)
