High Dollar Option

After a slate of some tight odds on Friday, we get the opposite on Saturday with three teams at -235 or better. Team BDS remains the whipping boy of the LEC as they have now lost ten straight matches to bring their record to 1-13. On Saturday they get an Excel team that has now lost three straight themselves after being crushed by G2 on Friday. The disappointing thing about the G2 loss is Excel actually set themselves up with a near 2k gold lead around the 10-minute mark, but sloppy team engagement lead to nearly three straight aces against them and they were never able to right the ship. Excel and Fnatic are now battling for the last playoff spot, both at 7-7 so there is a lot of pressure on Excel to get the win over a winnable opponent here. Despite XL’s struggles, BDS is still averaging 14.9 deaths per game and just 7.6 kills. Excel is still carrying a 1:21 team K:D which still ranks them second in the entire league. I tried to not go all-in on Vitality on Friday against BDS, but Vitality ended up putting up huge scores. The issue here is XL is by far the most expensive on the slate, even drawing a $8,200 price tag at ADC which is when you know DraftKings means business. The best overall value here is on Team Vitality, who have the third best odds to win, yet are priced 4th and 5th at some positions. I am usually a Vitality hater, but they are riding a four-game win streak here and face Astalis who isn’t a sure bet, but five of their six wins have come against teams ranked below them. Carzzy here at $7,200 is the slate’s best individual value as he has now only one death over his last three games played and an average near 40 FPPG.

Value Option(s)

When we have large favorites, the value options are tougher to come by. Luckily, due to just how this pricing shakes out, if you want you never have to roster an underdog here. G2 can be stacked with Excel, Rogue, and Vitality. Vitality can also be stacked with G2 and Rogue. If you are looking to 4-stack Excel you may have to get a little more creative but there are 4-2-1 stacking possibilities out there. If you are looking for a pure value stack, I don’t hate targeting Misfits against Mad Lions. Mad is the league’s best team fundamentally, but Misfits is right there with them in terms of KPG at 13.6. Sure, Misfits die around 3.5 more deaths per game, but since Zanzarah has entered the mix as their starting jungler this team has not yet lost and are 8-2 over their last ten games. The LEC in one-game series holds high variance due to draft impact, so there are no real adjustments a team can make live like the LCK or LPL can. It makes DFS a bit tougher here as we need our teams to really get everything right. This far into the season the things we do know for sure are: Team BDS and SK Gaming are the two worst teams in the league and G2 despite taking some losses holds the highest upside weekly.
