High Dollar Option

When it comes to paying up in the LCS it is hard to look at the data and not just say “Evil Geniuses” every time. EG is averaging 15.9 kills per game which is 3.1 kills per game higher than the next best in 100 Thieves. While EG does have 9.3 deaths per game (which is still the second fewest) the deaths stem from not being afraid to take the engagement. While they also lead in Tower%, they also lead in damage per minute and carry a 76% Baron rate. Wait, there is more EG, also averages the most Dragons at 15-minutes. As the game gets later, it appears EG drops off from Dragon priority and more into a team fighting and Baron priority bubble. At 11-2 on the Summer, this is clearly working. This week, EG faces TSM who has really struggled and shuffled their roster a lot this split. EG has won the last five meetings between these teams. Back in week three, TSM was shut out, not recording a single kill against EG who ended up winning 12-0 in 25 minutes with a 10k gold lead. Obviously, if a match goes that quick and one-sided it may not fall as optimal, but it does show the wide skill gap currently between these two teams. Inspired, Vulcan, and Danny rank 1-3-4 in total KDA in the LCS. Danny and Inspired are 1-2 for kills per game at 4.92 and 4.46. Vulcan leads assists at 11.69 per game. Simply put, Evil Geniuses are the elite target weekly. Of course, they also come at a top cost which is the main issue. A 4-stack of EG can be matched with FlyQuest, CLG, or GG on this slate and none are super attractive options outside of some darts on CLG against Cloud9.

Value Option(s)

For value on this slate I am looking at either side of the Immortals/Dignitas matchup. Both of these teams sport the LCS’s worst two records with Dignitas at 2-11 and Immortals at 3-10. Dignitas has made several roster changes recently which haven’t looked too positive yet. 100 Thieves held them to just two kills and CLG won pretty handily despite Dignitas being able to secure double-digit kills. Immortals also had a 0-2 week last week but faced some of the league’s best in EG and 100T. Both teams here are averaging just 7.8 and 7.9 kills per game respectively, with Immortals averaging more deaths at 12.8. These teams met back in week two with Dignitas somehow winning 11-0. Funny thing is that three starters from that game are no longer Dignitas starters. eXyu and Hoon have 0.78 KDA through their first two starts so it does remain to be seen if they continue to trot them out there. Spawn at ADC has just a 1.7 KDA, averaging more deaths than kills or assists. So we have the two worst teams facing off here, but I give the edge to Immortals just based on roster cohesion. That being said, Dignitas probably does not garner a ton of ownership here and if they are going to have a shot at being competitive, this is going to be the opponent to do it again.
