English Football League (EFL) League One football club Sheffield Wednesday has announced that UK-based short let property management business Host & Stay has become the club’s new principal partner. The partnership will see Wednesday display the Host & Stay logo on both of its home and away Macron shirts, alongside a range of exciting activations around the club’s 40,000-capacity stadium Hillsborough.

Sportradar Integrity Services, a unit of UK-based Sportradar has announced the launch of Athlete Wellbeing, a global program developed for leagues and federations, teams, and collegiate governing bodies to help support athletes’ and reduce the potential impact of sports betting on their mental health.

The program will focus on prevention and education through a comprehensive curriculum including on-demand virtual sessions, pre-recorded webinars and in person workshops.  Sportradar has partnered with industry leaders in the areas of sports betting addiction and athlete mental health including Kindbridge Behavioral Health, a mental health treatment provider focused on gambling and gaming disorders; Dr. Timothy Fong, the co-director of the UCLA Gambling Studies Program; and Brianne Doura-Schawohl, a recognized expert in harm prevention and responsible gambling. 

Additionally, Sportradar recently renewed its membership in the National Council on Problem Gambling (NCPG), the oldest organization in the US dedicated to preventing gambling addiction, with NCPG agreeing to advise on the development of the Athlete Wellbeing program.


UK-based professional esports company Guild Esports has announced the signing of the industry’s first ever full-time Safeguarding & Wellbeing Lead, Kit Brunswick, who joins the esports organisation to lead the holistic care and safeguarding of their esports athletes, academy players and figures throughout Guild. 

In his position, Brunswick will build a trauma-informed and supportive environment for everyone across Guild. This will range from implementing specialised training programmes for players and staff, industry first safeguarding audit processes, and tailored wellbeing care. This will apply to all prospects in Guild’s academy, as well as its staff and professional athletes competing across games such as Valorant, Fortnite, and Rocket League.
