Favorite Plays

Diamond DeShields

I figured that DeShields was in for a big season with the move to the Mercury and while the breakout did not take place at first we are starting to see it. DeShields has scored at least 17 points in four straight games for the Mercury and in her last two games is averaging 20 points, five rebounds, five assists, and three steals. DeShields has at least 36 fantasy points in each of her past two games. Even if you don’t believe that DeShields can keep up her 35-plus fantasy point performances which I do in this match-up against her former team she still has a very high floor in the 20 to 25 fantasy point range which would easily pay off her salary.

Kahleah Copper

Copper is not someone that I feel is going to win you a GPP. She is also not someone that is going to lose you a GPP either and sometimes that is good enough. The reason I say this about Cooper is that she has not shown much upside this season with a season-high of 20.5 fantasy points but she has also been consistent with a season-low mark of 17.3 fantasy points. Copper has not only been consistent this season but the match-up against the Mercury is an excellent one. With Brittney Griner still out due to her legal woes, the Mercury have allowed the highest field goal percentage and second-most points per game in the WNBA this season.

Satou Sabally

The Wings had been bringing Sabally back slowly since her return to the lineup but it does look like Sabally is fully back after her last game. In that game, Sabally played 29 minutes and had a huge stat line of 18 points, four rebounds, two assists, and a block on her way to 25.8 fantasy points. The minutes not only stood out for me with Sabally but her usage did as well. Sabally had a usage rate of 37.2% in that game which shows me that her 40 plus percent usage in her first two games of the season was not just a product of the limited minutes and shows me that with the increase in minutes we can expect another big game from Sabally, especially in this match-up. The Wings take on a Sparks team that quite frankly has not been good on the defensive end of the court allowing the third-most points per game and fourth-highest field goal percentage this season.
