It’s not very likely that Epic Games will pump out a sequel to “Fortnite” anytime soon. The company has been able to build on “Fortnite” and even upgrade the engine between chapters without a “Fortnite 2” (via IGN). In short, it seems like an update or patch would do whatever a “Fortnite 2” could.
Some content creators have talked about the pros of developing a sequel. However, Epic Games hasn’t explicitly mentioned plans for “Fortnite 2.” It has, however, announced a “Pac-Man” crossover and just dropped “Fortnite” Chapter 3 Season 2. At this rate, it seems like the company has found multiple ways to keep the story going and optimize the game as it goes on. We might never get to play “Fortnite 2.”
“Fortnite” is currently available for free on PC, Mac, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and Android devices. It’s still not technically allowed in the App Store because of the blowout from the Epic v. Apple court trial, but fans have found a way to make it work through Xbox Cloud Gaming.
